Chapter 15 - My Promise

Amber's POV

After a long lecture from the acting Grand Master.. and another long lecture from my superiors and as well as Lisa-

I am finally back on duty as the outrider everyone knows! I've been promoted to the captain role too and I have a small team of my own.

They're skills with gliding is.. alright at best. They lack courage! That's all, but in time they'll be a good glider as I am. Champion though? Nope.

I'm keeping that title and intend on winning all gliding tournaments here in Mondstadt. Heh- I'd go far to win any gliding tournament in Liyue.

Where is Lumine? She'd promised she would meet me here at the tavern.. she should be here any moment now.

Is that.. I think I know who it is? Why is Saifune sleeping outside and.. on the ground no less.

Taking a closer look.. she's deep asleep. Ah.. I can see a bottle of alcohol held by Saifune. She's not letting that bottle go it seems..

"Oii.. Saifune." I poke her cheeks and she slowly opens her eyes.. I'm not used to this. It was a guy at first but now.. a girl!

"Yes, it's me. Have you been drinking a lot.."

"Oh that.. no. I was drinking only a little. I decided to star gaze here then I fell asleep."

"Out here..? Star gazing, here? Really? There are better places Saifune.."

"I know, but this one.. I just felt comfortable."

"Okay Saifune.. how about you sleep in my room."

"Oh silly." Saifune hugs me and transforms into her bow form. "I'll just sleep like this. If there's any danger.. well you know what to do."

"Oi- Saifune!" .. "Sweet dreams I guess..?" I pick up the bow and onto my shoulder it goes. Now then..

Where's Lumine?! I'm starting to get worried about her- oh there she is.

"Sorry I'm late Amber!"

"Haha you noticed! This here is.. Umm.. I don't know what to name it.. Bonnie bunny!"

"It's.. an actual plushie of you.. with.. bunny ears.. and goggles.. oh my god my heart- wait does it explode."

"Explode with love or something. Second thought.. it's already emitting love! This is so adorable, Lumine. How did.. did you make this?"

"I sorta.. snuck into your room and found instructions on how you make those baron bunnies. I just.. made it without rigging the thing. I- I'm glad you like it, Amber!"

"Aww.. I love it, Lumine. This is so sweet- oh come here already." I step in and hug Lumine. I'm pushing myself on to Lumine and I can feel our bodies pressing against one another.

So.. warm and lovely.

"Amber.. I.. I know you are a captain now and.. you love the city of Mondstadt and the people who live here. I just.. you know that I can't stay here for long right.. I need to find the seven after all.."

"Oh.. oh right.. about that.. I.." I grew up here my whole life. It was my dream to become one of the best knights here in Mondstadt.
