"That was a nice song kid"
A voice from behind Y/n said. Y/n quickly turned her head to see pro hero Hawks. Standing there with a hand on his hip. Hawks was Y/n's favorite hero seeing him right there made her fan girl on the inside.
"Holy shit it's pro hero Hawks!! Ok Y/n f*cking focus don't show how surprised you are. You're not creepy, you're just a fan." She said in her head. "H-hawks. I'm a big f-fan." Y/n said a bit shaky. "ARE YOU F*CKING SERIOUS!?! WHY AM I SHAKING!?!" Y/n yelled in her head.
"Always nice to meet a fan. Now if you don't mind me asking-" He started, walking up to y/n. He sat down on the edge of the building right next to her. "Why are you up here?" He finished putting a hand on her shoulder. "Shit." Y/n thought. "Oh just, Uhh. Admiring."
"Admiring what exactly? The city, or the ground down below??"
He said looking Y/n in the eyes. A silence fell over the 2 as y/n tried to think of something, anything to say. She was trying her best not to cry but a couple of tears slipped out as she just stared at Hawks. "Well, umm. I-" She started but got cut off by Hawks pulling her into a hug.
"It's gonna be okay." He says. Y/n couldn't keep in her tears anymore and started crying into Hawks shoulder.
....
After about 5 minutes of y/n crying on Hawks shoulder, y/n and Hawks admired the view. After another 5 minutes Hawks finally went ahead and broke the silence. "So. I'm assuming you're here to get away from something. If you want you can tell me about it."
After a moment of silence y/n finally told her whole story. Her parents, her family kicking her out, the repression of her quirk, and finally the sludge incident. She hadn't told anyone the whole story but, Hawks seemed trustworthy. Almost like the father figure she never had.
"Wow. That's some heavy stuff kid. So that's where I recognize you from. Well, I think your quirk could be quite useful. Or at least it would make a good quirk for a hero." Hearing the word "hero" Y/n turned her head. "Y-you think I could be a hero?"
"Of course. If you had some training, maybe some close combat to avoid panic attacks. You would make an amazing hero!"Hearing her idol call her hero made y/n smile. The first real one for a while. "Thank you."
"Hey, I've got an idea. Why don't I train ya?" Hearing this made her so happy. She could be what she always wanted to become. Mostly to spite her parents but you know this time was different. She wanted to be a hero for her. "I would like that. But wouldn't it waste your time? I wouldn't want to-"She was cut off by Hawks laughing.
"You know kid, you worry about other people a lot. Another trait of a hero. And by the way- it's not wasting my time to train a good person to become an even better hero." Y/n teared up again hearing Hawks say this. She quickly rubbed her eyes and looked up at Hawks. "T-thank you. So much. I'm glad you showed up when you did..."
"Just a hero's job."
Hawks said as he stands up. And offers a hand to y/n. She takes it and stood up. Then she puts her blanket and ukulele back into her f/c backpack. "You know your way home?" Hawks asks as they walk towards the elevator. "Actually, no. I kinda just walked around until I spotted this building." Y/n says laughing a bit. "Well I'll walk you home. Where do ya live?" "Over by Aldera Junior High."
...
After a while of walking they finally got to y/n's house. They exchanged numbers and picked a day to train. Then Hawks left and Y/n went inside. Some of the lights were on and Koneko was laying on the couch. "Madison must have stopped by... " Y/n says, causing movement and Koneko to be flung off the couch. "Y/N!?!" Madison yelled sitting up at lightning speed. "I think you dropped the cat-" Y/n starts before being tackled into a hug. "Where the hell have you been!?! It's literally 1am!! You scared me half to death!!"
"Calm down. I just went on a walk." Y/n lies. "Still!" Madison yells. "Well I was planning on being out longer than I was. And I'm sorry, ok?" Y/n looks away. "You just apologized!! Who are you and where is y/n!?!"
"Look, I-I'm just happy to see your stupid face again." y/n says while wiping her face. She didn't want to tell Madison her original plan, but the look on Madison's face said she had no choice but to say what happened. "What happened? Are you ok? You're crying." Madison asks worriedly.
"Ha no shit. Figure that all by yourself?" Y/n feel to her knees. Trying to stop crying. Madison bent down onto her knees trying to comfort y/n. "Hey. It's ok! I'm sure everything is gonna be fine!" Madison rubs her back. "No I'm just glad I got to see you. I-if Hawks hadn't shown-up then- then-" She chokes on her tears.
"Hawks? I'm so confused." Madison asks.
...
After about 10 minutes y/n had finally told Madison the whole story. Madison of course cried a little bit, and after making some tea and rewatching some F/a they both fell asleep on the couch.
A/n: if you're going through something that may be hard on you, or you feel like giving up, don't. Life even if it seems like it's not worth it is. I myself have/am going through some hard things, and I understand that life isn't just peaches and cream.
If you feel like this I suggest reaching out to someone. A family member, a friend, a love, just someone who you feel would care. And don't worry about the burden or that it will hurt them to see you sad. That's something I struggle with a lot.
And if you really feel like no one will care, I suggest calling the national suicide hotline. Please stay safe. - Karma
