President Duterte is still reviewing some papers despite the fact that it is late already in the evening. Kanina pa nga niya hinihilot ang kanyang sentido dahil bahagya na ring sumasakit ang kanyang ulo. When suddenly, his phone lit up, an indication that someone had sent him a message.
Good night, Love. I love you ❤.
He smiled upon reading the message.
"This woman never failed to lighten my mood", he thought.
Good night too, Love. I love you more 😘❤, was Digong's response.
Take time to rest also, sir. Matulog ka na.
Yes, ma'am. Sana katabi man kita hehehe.
'Andami na ngang kinakaharap ng bansa natin, puro ka pa din kalokohan sir! Saka na yan 😜
Sinabi mo yan, ma'am ah.
Yes, sir. Matulog ka na
Tapusin ko man itong binabasa ko ma'am at matutulog na rin ako. Matulog ka na rin ma'am alam kong pagod ka na rin.
Leni did not respond anymore and Digong went back to the paper he is reading. He is now on a lighter mood. She is really his antidote. Just a mere message coming from her makes his fatigueness vanish.
"She really is my light in these dark times", Digong admitted to himself.

Malacañang Palace, 9:00 A.M
Digong is busy reviewing heaps of documents when he heard a knock on his door. It is SAP Bong Go.
"Yes?", Digong inquired with Bong.
"Mayor, would you have your address to the nation this night pre taped or live? Members of the Malacanang Press Corps were asking so that they can prepare na daw po Mayor", Bong responded.
"Nakalimutan ko man, Martes pala ngayon", Digong said before falling into deep thought.
"Pag nag live man ako, baka man mapuyat si ma'm sa panood. Saka baka magalit man siya ulit sa akin 'pag na late na naman ako. But if I had it pre taped, ganoon pa rin naman. Manonood pa rin naman si ma'am at mapupuyat. Marami na ring mga yawang nagsasabing mag live man dapat ako para kahit doon lang man daw maipakita kong I'm in control", Digong is debating with himself in his mind.
"Pre taped po ba or live, Mayor?", Bong is waiting for an answer.
"Mag live tayo", Digong decided.
"Pakisabi na rin sa mga Cabinet Secretaries that I want their full attendance on tonight's nation briefing. Maghanda rin 'kamo sila ng clear na reports ba", he instructed to his assistant.
"Sige po, Mayor", Bong said and was about to leave the room when Digong spoke again.
"At pakisabi rin na dapat man kaming magsimula sa takdang oras. Baka man mabugahan na naman ako ng apoy pag na late ang live ba", Digong said and smiled shyly.
Bong laughed. For he knew that his boss is right. Patay talaga ito sa kanyang commander kapag na late na naman ito.
"Yes, sir. Sabihan ko po lahat ng Cabinet Secretaries na agahan ang pagdating", Bong assured Digong.
"Siguruhin mo lang. Baka matulog na naman ako sa lapag nito", Digong jested. Both laughed at the joke.
At exactly 9 P.M, the press briefing started.
"Magandang gabi, mga kababayan ko. Alam ko na ... magulo man ang ano natin ngayon...Marami man tayong pinagdaraanan ngayon, pandemya, bagyo pati man mga put***inang rebelde ayaw magpaawat, makakaasa kayong hindi man kayo pababayaan ng inyong gobyerno. Nandito po kami muli upang maghatid ng ulat sa ating laban sa pandemya. Unahin man nating pakinggan si Madam Sec. Briones sa hanay ng edukasyon", President Duterte opened the press briefing.
"Magandang gabi po, mahal na Pangulo", panimulang bati ni Sec. Briones.
"The past few weeks, the department faced a lot of challenges. Modules were scrutinized publicly, learners as well as teachers are experiencing stress and learning materials from the typhoon stricken areas were damaged. But still, Mr. President, I am happy to tell you that we are already entering the last week of the first quarter of the school year", Sec. Briones reported.
"Magaling man kung ganoon,Sec. Magsabi ka man kung ano pwede pang itulong natin sa departamento", Digong told her.
"Yes, Mr. President. Salamat po", Sec. Briones replied gratefully.
"Kumusta man ang pagpapatupad ng quarantine guidelines, Sec. Año", he asked the Secretary of Interior and Local Government.
"Maayos naman po, Mr. President. May mga LGU's na nagrequest na maibalik sila into MECQ dahil sa upsurge ng cases on their locality",Sec. Año informed the president.
"Monitor those localities", Digong instructed Sec. Año.
"Noted, sir", Sec. Año
"How about our hospitals, maganda pa rin ba ang posisyon nila in this war?", he directed the question to Sec. Duque, the secretary of health.
Interestingly sir, ang mga hospital natin ay gumaganda pa lalo ang paglaban nila with the virus. Thanks to the untiring frontliners, sir", Sec. Duque boasted.
"That's good to hear, Sec. I hope by first quarter next year, may vaccine na tayo. Mauna man akong magpabakuna para matanggal ang agam agam ng mga tao ba", Digong said.
The press briefing is getting serious already so Digong thought of interjecting some jokes.
"Alam man ninyo, napakastressful man talaga ng mga araw ngayon. 'Andming dapat isipin ba. Mabuti na lang pag gabi may nagmamasahe man, nakakatanggal man ng pagod. Maganda talaga bang may dyowa ka, may babe time man ba palagi. Pero paktay man ako sa kanya bukas dahil sa mga pinagsasabi ko ngayon ", he jested.
The secretaries laughed. They know the president is right. Patay talaga ito kay commander!
"Pero totoo man, masaya talaga ang may dyowa. Pwera lang 'pag tinotopak ang babae, p**a, mahaba habang suyuan man ba", Digong continued because he sense that the atmosphere already lighten a bit.
The men were laughing hard while Sec. Briones was only smiling.
"Tama man ba ako, Sec. Briones?", Digong asked the only lady present. But Sec. Briones only smiled.
"Pero mahirap man din kapag ang uyab mo man ay kapareho mong busy sa trabaho ba. Madalang lang magkita. Saka sa gabi, pareho na kayong pagod ba", Digong was laughing and so with the secretaries too. Alam nila pare pareho kung ano ang nais ipakahulugan ni Digong.
"Tapos sa umaga man ba, kahit gusto mong magyakap yakap muna ba kahit saglit eh hindi pwede kasi papasok kayong pareho. Ganoon man kami sa umaga. Lagi akong humihiling ba na yakap yakap muna saglit. Papayag man siya pero saglit lang dahil malelate kaming pareho ba. Sabi ko nga 'wag nang pumasok at sabihin niya sa opisina nila na akong nagsabing hindi siya papasok pero iirapan man lang ako ng gaging", he jested further.
The secretaries were already laughing their hearts out. Natatawa silang malaman na ang tigasin pala nilang presidente ay tumitiklop sa commander nito.
"Ayaw man mag absent ng babae kahit anong sabihin ko. Marami man siyang trabaho talaga. Sa umaga papayag man saglit sa yakap yakap pero 'pag kumalas na hindi na talaga mapapakiusapan pa. Marami pa raw siyang trabahong naghihintay sa OVP kaya sabi ko nga ipasara ko na kaya ang OVP ba", Digong laughed.
But nobody laughed with him. Digong also stopped laughing abruptly. Awkward silence followed.
