Leni was at her office when she received a message from Digong.
Love, ingat ka man palagi. Update mo man ako kung saan man ang tungo ninyo ng team mo ngayon. Sunduin kita mamayang hapon, Love, dinner tayo with the kids.
Leni smiled. Oh, how she love this man. Napakamaalalahanin at maintindihin. Loving him was not easy, but its worth it.
She remembered the night when he fetched her from the meeting she attended without him knowing. She was thankful that he came on time. She was already at the breaking point that time and she's nearing to breaking down. She even thought that Digong would get mad at her for not telling him about the meeting. But he was not.
"Love, sa susunod man, sabihin mo sa akin kung makikipag meeting ka sa kanila para masamahan man kita", malumanay na sabi ni Digong kay Leni.
"I'm sorry, Love. I'm sorry na inilihim ko sa iyo kasi I felt that I owe them explanation that's why I met with them. And para na rin makapag resign ako formally as their Chairman", hinging paumanhin ni Leni.
"But thank you also for fetching me. Kanino mo nga pala nalaman?", tanong ni Leni.
"It doesn't matter, Love. Ang mahalaga man nailayo kita sa mga p*****inang mga 'yun", Digong replied.
"Hindi naman nila ako sasaktan, Love", Leni assured him.
"Physically not but emotionally, they'll ruin you. Emotional blackmail man ba. But I will protect you in every ways I know. Subukan man nilang galawin ka",Digong told his wife.
Leni suddenly heard knocks on her door that pulled her from reminiscing that night.
It was Georgina, her Chief of Staff, who knocked.
"Yes, Georgina? Ano yun?", tanong ni Leni sa kanya.
"Sorry for disturbing you, ma'am, but I think you need to watch the ongoing live presscon of your former political party", she informed her boss.
"Thank you for notifying me, Georgina. I'll watch it", she thanked her staff.
As Georgina went out of her office, Leni switched on the TV in her office. And true enough,all her former partymates are on present on the presscon.
Sen. Pangilinan acted as the speaker of the group.
"Yes, it's true. The rumors are true that VP Leni already left LP. She joined the political party of her husband, President Duterte. We want to thank VP Leni for the services and sacrifices she had rendered to our party. As for the selection of our new Chairman, we are on the process of selecting from the deserving ones", Sen. Pangilinan informed the public.
"Senator, what can you say about the fact that our President and Vice President are husband and wife? What could be its implication to the country?", one reporter asked.
"Actually, this scenario reminds me of the Marcos era. Have you heard about the rumor before that it was not only President Ferdinand Marcos who ruled that time, he shared the power with his wife, Imelda Marcos. Thus, the so called "Conjugal Dictatorship". But I think, what we have now is worse than that of the Marcos couple. What I meant to say is that, Imelda only had shared power with the President Marcos then, while now, VP Leni actually has a position in the government, the second highest position, in fact. This is a democratic country, yes, but what is compromised with this kind of situation is the check and balance system of the government. Oo nga't parehong nasa ilalim sila ng executive branch ngunit hindi rin maiiwasang "mapakialaman" nilang mag asawa ang legislative at judicial braches", mahabang paliwanag ni Pangilinan.
"So, you're saying Senator that malaki ang magiging epekto sa ating bansa sa pagkakaroon ng mag asawang nakaupo sa dalawang pinakamataas na posisyon?", another reporter asked.
"Aminin man natin o hindi, malaki ang epekto talaga nito sa pamamalakad sa ating bansa", Sen. Pangilinan affirmed.
"Ano po ang dapat gawin sa ngayon", one reporter asked out of curiosity.
"Well, one of them should step down", Pangilinan said.

Malacañang Palace
Digong was also watching the presscon of the LP. He smiled sarcastically when they thanked VP Leni, na akala mo naman hindi nila ginigisa nang nag meeting sila.
".....one of them should step down", these words caught the attention of Digong.
"Nagsimula man na silang sirain kami ni Leni. Mga pesteng yawa, gagawin lahat para lang makakuha ng mataas na posisyon sa gobyerno", he thought to himself.
He, then called SAP Bong Go.
"Yes,Mayor?", the assistant came inside the office of the president immediately.
"Please send in Harry, I will answer all the allegations of those bitter LP members", he instructed his assistant.
After the presscon of the LP's, the Palace also held a presscon of their own.
" VP Leni, leaving the Liberal Party was a decision she solely made. No one coerced her to leave the said political party. And please, 'wag po nating ihalintulad ang Duterte couple sa Marcos couple. This is not dictatorship. The government remains democratic. Rest assured that check and balance system will still prevail despite that the two highest government official we have is a couple. And besides, having a couple as the two highest official is constitutional, meaning, wala pong mali doon. Hindi kailangang mag resign ng isa sa kanila", Spox Harry Roqued relayed to the public what President Duterte wants to say.
Not long after, the LP camp also released another statement.
"Ayon sa ating butihing Spokesperson Harry Roque, ang desisyon ni VP Leni na pag alis sa aming partido ay sarili niyang desisyon. Wala naman pong nagsasabing pinilit siyang umalis sa aming partido. Napakadefensive naman po yata nila. At sinasabi nilang hindi naman labag sa Konstitusyon ang kanilang sitwasyon. Oo naman po. Ngunit ang tanong namin, just because it is Constitutional does not mean it is morally and ethically acceptable", the LP Spokesperson also relayed the party's statement.
Netizens were divided on the said issue.
"Mga oposisyon talaga! Ultimo pagiging mag asawa ng Pangulo at VP pinapakialaman. Mema lang!".
"Malungkot siguro lovelife ng mga ito, kaya pati lovelife ng mga pinuno ng bansa binibigyan pa ng issue".
These were some of the sentiments of those who support the Duterte - Robredo Tandem.
"It's not about the lovelife of the two! It is about betraying the public trust! Mag asawa na pala pero itinago para ano? Para macontrol ang power?".
"Ginagawang scape goat ang pagiging constitutional umano nito. Ang tanong, ethically acceptable ba".
These were also some of the sentiments of the anti's.
But the #OneMustResign trended on social media that prompted VP Leni to text the President.
"Love, magresign na lang kaya ako para tigilan na nila tayong pareho?".
