Keith awoke with a start to the loud blaring of his alarm clock at 5:30 a.m. Sure it was early but one could never be too prepared, right? Plus, he had no clue what or when the mission was so he wanted to be as ready and awake as early as possible.
Stealthily, he crept to the bathroom, careful to avoid any possible traps that might have been set up. He changed into his usual outfit, leaving off his red jacket. He wanted to avoid as much extra clothing and material as possible. He still kept a few weapons, specifically his blade, on him. At exactly 6, he decided to creep down into the main sitting area where they had gotten their talking to last night to see if anyone was in there, waiting to give him an assignment. If not, he'd just wait peacefully there until he got one.
Lance on the other hand had a much more... "relaxed" morning planned. His alarm went off at 7:15 and he was slow to wake up since that was still considered early for him. He slowly changed into his outfit, having the same idea as Keith to leave off the spare clothing and jacket, yet forgetting any weapons and blades. Then he sauntered down to the kitchen, grabbed something to eat, and made his way to the same place Keith was at 8:45.
Lance walked in the room, smiling widely. "Hey, Keith-y. How are you?" Lance asked, collapsing into a chair. Keith was practically asleep, eyes barely open.
"I'm... exhausted," he groaned.
"How long have you been here?"
"Since 6," he mumbled.
"Shoot, that's early."
"I KNOW!"
"Jeez... calm down," Lance mumbled. Suddenly, Allura and Shiro calmly walked through the door, smiling brightly.
"Why hello there!" Allura said. Keith groaned and Lance winked earning an even louder groan from Keith and a chuckle from Shiro.
"How are we all doing this morning?" Shiro asked.
Keith said, "utterly terrible," at the same time Lance said, "not too bad actually."
Both boys turned and looked at each other for a second then looked away.
"Glad to know everyone's on the same page," Shiro teased. Keith grunted.
"So what exactly is our first exer- AAAHHHHHHH" but Lance was cut off by his loud screams. The floor below him and Keith had disappeared and they were literally falling into nothing. After falling for several seconds, they hit the ground with a loud crash. Keith let out a string of several curse words.
"Quiznack! Where the hell are we?" Lance asked. It was so dark the boys could barely see their hands if they held them in front of their faces.
"WHERE ARE YOU?!" Keith shouted desperately. Keith stealthily walked backwards, careful to not miss anything. Suddenly he ran into something. Quickly whipping around, he pinned the person to the floor, his dagger at their throat.
"GOD KEITH! IT'S ME LANCE!" Lance chocked. Keith let go of Lance and brushed himself off, slightly embarrassed. "As much as I liked you chocking me-"
"LANCE!" Keith interjected before he finished that sentence, genuinely scared to see where it was going. Lance chuckled.
"I'm kidding."
"Good," Keith said bluntly. "I literally can't even see you."
"I know. I think the goal is for us to escape?" Lance peeped.
"I'm assuming so also. Okay, link our arms together so we're back to back," Keith commanded.
"Why?" Lance asked defensively.
