Katherine Pierce, newly turned into a human, walked the streets of Mystic Falls, frightened about her new transformation. She was fearful of enemies finding out that she was a human now. She hated feeling scared and alone. It made her feel like the girl she once was 500 sum years ago. The girl Elijah had fallen in love with. That girl she wished she could remember how to be. If she could have remembered how to be her, Elijah wouldn't have abandoned her for his family. She didn't hate him, though. She'd always known he was family oriented. She just wished that he'd let himself find love. Let himself be happy for once. Now, as she walked through the streets, not knowing where she'd go or what to do, she kept looking around for any enemies she might recognize around each corner. She kept seeing no enemies, though. Everyone in the streets were just humans. People that, until a few days ago, she'd seen as food. She knew she had to find herself shelter and food now, considering she had nothing as a human. What she'd had as a vampire, she'd gotten through her vampire abilities. The thought crossed her mind to head to Damon's for his help and protection, but she figured that he'd be angry at her for what she'd tried to do to Elena in her fit of anger. However, just like Damon knew, what Elena had done to her was a fate worse than death. She was sure Elena had just done it to give her a chance at finding herself or whatever, but Katherine had too many enemies. She couldn't even be properly human.
Meanwhile, Damon was at home at the boarding house, having a shot glass of Bourbon. He'd been thinking about what Katherine and Elena had done to one another. Katherine had tried to kill Elena, which he was sure was for a good reason in her eyes, but Elena had literally shoved the cure down her throat. That was a fate worse than death for her. He despised the vampire version of Katherine, but only because she'd broken his heart. No one deserved to unwillingly be turned back into a human. Especially, someone like Katherine that had a million or more enemies. If they found out that she was human, he knew that she'd be dead. Elena just hadn't thought of that when she'd shoved that cure down her throat, thinking she was helping herself, but also helping Katherine somehow find herself again. He knew Elena would hate him for this, but he was seriously thinking about going to find Katherine. Make sure she was okay, or at least still alive. After all, enemies weren't the only thing she had to worry about as a human. Humans had an overwhelming ability to be nasty to one another in this world.
Six months later, Kat finally had found her way into being a normal human and had a house all to herself. She still kept an eye out for any enemies, though. For once in a long while though, she felt at least content in her life. Something she hadn't felt in quite a long time. After all, she'd had to run almost her entire vampire life. As a human, she was finally beginning to try and start her life over. That didn't mean that she'd turn her back on people she knew and cared about, though. If anyone she knew needed help, she'd help in any way she could.
