"The human brain is the most unique object in the whole world." I remembered these words of our high school biology teacher, during one of her over enthusiastic human anatomy classes, as I sat on my couch, on one boring late afternoon.

It's so true, I thought. With so many nerves and connections going all over the place, the very structure of it is intricately complex. The way it functions as well, is baffling. It works in different ways under different circumstances. For instance, when it's occupied with something important and relevant, like studying for exams, it would find excuses to let us think about the various possibilities we could adopt to enjoy ourselves. But once unoccupied, and the nerve cells are relaxed off all its stress and tensions, all those distracting ideas seemingly evaporate out of existence.

I was in such a perplexed state when I received the call. I was just flipping my cellphone from one hand to the other, when it vibrated and then rang up. The screen flashed Sid's name and I picked it at once.

"Hello dude", I heard his voice.

"Hey man."

"Where are you?"

"Home."

"Really?" This made me sit up. "When did you come?"

"Just this morning. Been a few hours."

"So, lets catch up this evening?"

"No."

"What? Why not-"

"Right now."

"Like, now, now?"

"Yeah. Can you come right now? How about at the station?"

"On my way," I said getting up. I ended the call and went into the bedroom to get a change of clothes. There was something in Sid's voice that was out of place. His voice had that straining ring to it, he sounded troubled. He was probably facing some problem or was in some sort of an emotional turmoil. Whatever it was, I was soon going to find out.
