Wednesday morning came and as usual you were running late.
You spent last night playing over what had happened first revealing the death of your parents but then Bucky's macho display at the restaurant.
Just some guy you spent the night with then abandoned in the morning
His words played over and over. It felt harsh. He felt like I abandoned him? Your heart hurt knowing that you had hurt him that way, which was never your intention.
You dressed and rushed toward training. You had missed the morning instructions and already saw your group engaging in rotations.
Bucky stood on the other side of the room. He wasn't smiling when you approached.

"You're late," he said, still scanning the room and not looking at you.
"I'm sorry..." You started.
"No excuse," he said cutting you off. "You're dismissed for the day."
"What!?" You say surprised.
"If you can't make it on time, then you obviously don't take this seriously," he said finally looking at you, angrily. "You're dismissed for the day and can make it up with Sam's group tomorrow."
"Are you fucking kidding me?" You say, knowing that this wasn't about you being late.
"No I'm not," he retorted.
"Is this about last night?" You say hushed.
He looked at you. "No, (y/n)," he said. "This is about you not following orders," he turned towards you, backing you toward the wall.

"You're supposed to be here at 6:30 a.m. sharp and you weren't. It was a simple directive and you couldn't, or maybe wouldn't follow it. These are the consequences," he huffed. "They depend on you and you didn't show up."
"This is bullshit," you say. "I'm there when it counts," you retort. "I didn't abandon anyone," you say knowing he would know what you meant. You felt tears in your eyes.
