You woke up Friday morning feeling like you weighed a ton. All of your thoughts were heavy. You still hadn't talked to Bucky. You didn't even know what to say at his point.
How the hell did I get here?
You woke up early and eager to be on time for training. You stood among the other agents as Bucky walked in examining the group.
He didn't make eye contact with you. He barked orders which you followed, no talking back, no quipped remark. Today just didn't feel like the day to be funny.
Humor hides pain.
Today you just didn't have the energy to hide.
You wished he would look at you, even just for a moment. You watched as he forced his eyes anywhere but on you.
A few hours passed and you were covered in sweat. As the group trickled out you approach him.
"Hey, can we talk?" You asked shakily.
He finally looked at you but said nothing, waiting.
"I'm not sure what's going on anymore," you started. "I don't understand what happened the other night at dinner or yesterday."
"You were late," he said kurt.Â
"I guess that's fair," you reply. "What about the other night?"
He looked at you again, his usually light eyes darkened.
"I was wrong the other night," he said. "I don't like that guy but you're a big girl, you can do what you want with who you want," he picked up his bag.
"So that's it," you huffed. "That's all you have to say?" He walked past you.
"That's all I have to say," he replied. "Now I have a date to get ready for."
Fury rose in you. You knew he was lying, he always seemed to have more to say, but he never did.
Before he could exit the gym you called out, "You're a fucking liar ice man!"
He stopped at the door, turning toward you.
