"Let's go shopping." Slade thought it sounded great. Shopping with Max. He had to find a reason to hang out with Max longer. He had to keep this man close to him.
"What?" Max was shocked. It was very late or very early. Did this guy ever get tired or sleep? It was very late and Slade looked wide awake and that concert had to be a workout. Did he really expect them to go shopping right now?
"Tomorrow, control freak. Tonight, I was taking a bath and..." Slade sighed. He knew that his plans were going to change. He was relieved. He could spend it with Max. Dr. Max... he had to calm down. What should they do together? Max needed to relax and loosen up.
Max was staying just because Slade asked him to.
Slade smiled softly. "We will think of something to do." He pulled the car in front of nice hotel and he traded his keys to a valet for a ticket and walked through the lobby of the nice hotel to the elevator.
"So, my rental is parked..." Max sighed as he pointed behind him. "At the convention center with my bag." His clothes were in his car.
Slade smiled as the elevator stopped on their floor. "Okay. It's fine there until morning but don't worry... I'll think of something."
They got out on the top floor and walked to a suite. Slade pulled his phone. "Hey, can you come here and get Max's keys and go get his car and bring it here."
There was a pause. "I know but I'm afraid he will come to his senses and leave. I'm kidnapping him." He smiled and hung up.
"Solis's going to get your car for you." Slade opened the door and walked inside and pulled Max in. "Welcome to my home away from home. Check out the view. Are you hungry?"
Max smiled out the window. "I am." What in the hell was he doing? He was in a hotel room with Slade! Slade was his sister's ....whatever. But if they were serious, she would be here and not him. Slade deserved better than Brooke. And that was the last moment that Max thought about Brooke. It was a very small fleeting thought.
Right now, Slade was here without his shirt and Max had bigger things to worry about like.. don't hit on this guy. Slade was straight and Max was trying to be straight. He had to stay calm. They were just friends. He could be friends with someone. Just because he thought he could be gay in high school doesn't mean that he was now. He got rid of those thoughts.. or he thought he had until Slade walked in and wrecked everything. Max took a deep breath as he looked out over the city.
This was a bigger city than where he lived. His was a cozy community that he loved. He watched all of the lights and different office buildings. He saw people still working in their cubicles and it was almost two am. Crazy. He watched traffic flowing on the street and saw a cop car pulling someone over and he smiled.
"This view is amazing."
Slade nodded and smiled as he picked up the phone and ordered food. He went into the bathroom and came out in a towel. He sighed. "There is a sauna in my bedroom."
"I'm fine right here." Max sighed. He couldn't get into a sauna with this sexy man. Not happening.
"Get a fucking towel, get naked and get in the sauna. Please." Slade glared. He knew that Max needed bossed around. He needed to be told what to do. He was going to loosen this man up. Max needed to relax.
"Ugh!" Max stormed into the bathroom and came out in a towel. "Well, I am uncomfortable." He was holding the towel like a life preserver.
"Come on. Let's go loosen up. I promise not to touch you." Slade tried not to notice that Max had a very sexy body. He walked into the bedroom and opened a door as steam came out. "Oh, yeah." He pulled Max inside and closed the door.
"You said you wouldn't touch me!" Max glared.
Slade laughed. "Sit or I'll touch you again."
Max sat.
"Damn." Slade smiled as Max glared. He wanted to touch Max again. "You are so stubborn."
Max nodded and closed his eyes as he leaned back on the wooden wall and smiled. "This is nice actually."
Slade poured a little water on the rocks and slid beside Max. It was room for maybe three people. Perfect for two. Slade sat close. "Hmm." He hummed in agreement. What in the hell did he do now? He had this sexy man in his sauna... now what? He never persuaded a man like this before. He never thought about pulling a man out of the closet. He always dated experienced men.
They were silent until the door opened and Solis poked his head inside.
"I have your keys and I will drop them at the valet. Your bag will be on the bed. Good night, lo...gentlemen." Solis smiled and closed the door.
He was going to call them lovers but that might scare Max. He didn't want to do that but he couldn't wait to call them that. He hoped he could call them lovers soon.
"So, Solis said you were his twin brother." Max just kept his eyes closed.
Slade smiled. "I am. What else did he say?"
"Well, he said you write a lot of the music. It's nice to see that you get along. I tolerate my sister on good days. We couldn't be in a band together." Max sighed.
Slade smiled. "We have always been close. We get along and can tell what the other is thinking most of the time. I love him. He is an awesome singer and I write the music to fit his voice."
Max smiled. "That is awesome. Brooke was right. I am boring!"
Slade shook his head. "No, Max. You aren't. You are here with me. I have never been bored in your presence."
Max opened his eyes and looked at Slade. "Really? That may be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me!"
Slade sighed. "I like you, Max."
Max nodded. "Surprisingly, I like you, Slade. What's your last name?"
"Press."
Max smiled. "Elite Press. Nice. I get the name of the band now."
Slade smiled. "I thought it was a good name."
"So, how famous are you?" Max was curious. "I just don't know a thing about you or the band, in general. If my sister is sniffing around, you must have potential."
"We are very successful and lucky. We have been working for ten years, together. Some before that. Solis and I started in our garage and played in bars. We have been on talk shows and toured Europe and the States. We are finishing this tour soon. We have been traveling for a little over a year and we are ready for a break." Slade sighed as his muscles relaxed. This felt so nice. It was nice to be around Max, he was soothing somehow. He usually dated high maintenance people that needed a lot of attention. It was stressful.
"Remind me when we get out and I will show you some videos." Slade was getting hot.
"I'm about done." Max inhaled. "It's hot enough in here."
"Let's eat and watch me beat on some drums." Slade smiled. "If I get too egotistical, hit me. You have permission."
Max laughed. "Okay. Let's go."
They talked all night and ate the food that was delivered. It was one of the best nights Max ever had. He saw videos of several of their hit songs and enjoyed them. He heard Slade sing along to some of them.
He had a very nice deep voice. He sounded like Solis. Sexier. Max just wanted to sit beside Slade and he did, all night. They fell asleep in the bed.
Max opened his eyes and saw Slade sleeping beside him. Max had to use the bathroom and when he stumbled back into the room, he paused. Slade looked amazing in his sleep. His face was relaxed and he looked younger. He looked sweet and innocent. His mischievous eyes were closed as Max smiled. This guy was something else. He pulled the comforter over Slade and laid back down. He slept so well all night right beside Slade.
