2 months have passed since the incident involving Zach and Monty happened. Not much has changed, except the relationship between Monty and Maisey.

The pair had slowly began to talk again, not much, but exchanging 'hellos' as they pass by each other in the halls was a step in the right direction, well according to Monty that is.

As for her and Zach, their relationship was still strictly platonic. You'd think that the amount of times they've flirted with one another that some feelings would arise, but they didn't and they wouldn't ever.

Next month was the Winter Formal, the school hallways and classrooms were now littered in posters dedicated to the event. Maisey, being the most popular girl in school, has guys lining up to be her date, but she'd never say yes to any.

For one, she had standards. Most guys that asked her didn't meet those requirements and two, they weren't Monty.

Maisey POV

"There's my favourite girl" Zach says from behind me.

"Where" I say, pretending to search for the 'favourite girl' he's talking about.

"Right here, doofus" he said, pulling me into one of those cozy bear hugs.

The entire school had assumed Zach and Maisey were going together since she had turned down every other guy. Truth is, they both didn't know the answer. The simple answer would be, yes, they are going together, but to Maisey it was so much more than that. She wanted to give Zach the opportunity to ask another girl to be his ball date before he settled for her. She wanted him to keep his options open, not wanting to get in the way of him and some girl that could possibly end up being his future girlfriend.

"Follow me" Zach says, grabbing my shoulders lightly and steering me towards the doors of our school gym. Confused, but also compliant, I start walking not even asking why.

A sign 'if I make this shot, you have to say yes to going to the winter formal with me. Love, Zach' aimed straight at me. How sweet of the guy, now I know why he was so adamant on me not going towards the gym this morning.

"Bold Dempsey, I like it. You better not let me down otherwise I'd have to say yes to the freshman who asked me this morning" I tease, seeing the look of pure determination on his face.

Myself, as well as my friends, sit on the bleachers as Zach is on the court, ball in hand. We all watch in amusement as he bounces the ball before tossing it straight into the hoop, 'swish'. Was I surprised? Definitely not. Zach was by far the best player on the basketball team, especially when it came to shooting.

Out came some girls from cheer bearing gifts for me, chocolates and flowers.

"So sappy, I love that" I cheese, taking the gifts from the girls and giving Zach a massive hug.

"So is that a yes"

By now the whole school had heard of Zach's epic promposal, many freshman's who look up to him congratulating him on 'bagging the hottest girl in school'. But it was more than that to him, he liked making her happy, especially in a time of need.

Monty, who showed up late to school, later found out from some freshman's that Maisey was Zach's date to the winter formal, infuriating the tan boy more than he already was.

He knew just what to do to spite the girl he loved so much, hurt her in the best way he knew he could.

"Hey Isobel, will you accompany me to the Winter Formal" Montgomery asked, gifts in hand and a smirk on his face as he asked the girl in front of everyone.

He made sure the love of his life was near to witness what he had just done.

"Of course I will" the girl shrieked, pulling him in for a hug followed my a kiss on the lips. That definitely got Maisey's attention now.

The brunette couldn't believe it. She knew she had no right to be feeling the way that she was, but come on. A slap in the face was what that was. She wouldn't let it affect her, or at least wouldn't it show him know that it did.

Instead, she turned on her heels and walked towards the cafeteria, leaving a panicked Monty and an overly-excited Isobel in the hallway.

This is going to be only crazy winter formal.
