*FLASHBACK*

Maisey's POV

It was the last party to celebrate the end of summer and what would be some seniors last high school party. Bryces parties were always huge and this was no comparison to the last one. I walked into the kitchen, Monty's arms fixed tightly around my waist as I tried my best to manoeuvre my way around people without accidentally bumping into them. Just moments before Monty and I had gotten into an argument regarding some freshman who was all over him, of course only I saw the problem with it, Monty on the other hand would do anything to get his dick hard - even if it meant allowing random girls to be all over him. It was one thing I despised most about him, the one thing that actually lead me to turn him down when he first asked me to be his girlfriend.

I fixed Monty a drink before fixing myself one. I was still upset with him, but I also wanted us to enjoy the night so I brushed it off. "I'm going to talk to Jeff, Mont" I whisper in his ear, making sure he heard me before I walked off. "Okay, no funny business though" he jokes, pulling me in for a quick kiss before allowing me to leave.

I quickly made my way over to Jeff, once again manoeuvring my way through the crowd. "Hey, Jeffykins", I greeted with a smile. "Hi little one", he responded pulling me into a bear hug. We quickly fell into conversation about everything and how we're all going to be seniors this year, it was truly crazy. Before I could say something else, a drunken Jessica Davis stumbles towards us, slurring her words "come and dance with me, Mais". I laugh a little at how drunk she is, almost envious because I'm not nearly as drunk as she is and I knew I needed to change that very soon. "Go have fun, Maisey. We can catch up later" Jeff says before leaving us two girls be.

It's now 2 hours into the party and it's safe to say that I have almost reached Jessica Davis' level of drunk. Monty and I are in a heated make out session before I notice Scott and Sheri walk in leading me to pull away from Monty, much to the brunette jocks dismay. A groan leaves his lips as he too sees Scott and Sheri walk in, us both greeting them with wide drunken smiles before questioning where they've been all along. Monty's hands are once again around my waist, however his eyes are fixating on something else, or rather someone else.

"Hey Sheri, looking hot" Monty smirks, grinning from ear to ear. It's no secret that Monty likes to flirt with girls, the whole of Liberty High knows. But he has never flirted with Sheri before, ever. At first, I didn't respond because I genuinely thought I heard wrong, it wasn't until Scott spoke that I realised that what I heard was right. "Hey, fuck off man. If I said that to your girl you wouldn't like that" he said, now a little pissed off at Monty's drunk demeanour. "It was a fucking compliment, Scott. Chill. Thank you, babe" Sheri now responded, sending him a wink. Now she's gone and done it. "Is this a fucking joke." I yell, now angered at the two of them. Monty tries to tell me to calm down, pulling me away from Sheri and Scott but I had something else for him. "Fuck off Montgomery", I spit before leaving the scene and going to get another drink.

I chose to ignore Montgomery for the rest of the night. Sober me would have done something about it, but drunk me knows that I am way too drunk to be causing a scene like that tonight....

By now, the party was coming to an end and I had yet to see signs of Monty anywhere. Jeff and Zach were both waiting for Monty and I as Jeff offered to be our ride home, even though I only lived down the street from Bryce. I sloppily ran up the stairs towards Bryce's room as I remembered I had left my purse in there to prevent it from being lost or stolen during the night. I passed Scott on the way up, him looking confused as he asked me whether or not I had seen Sheri anywhere. "Last I saw she was with Monty", as soon as those words had left my mouth I stood frozen in my tracks, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. I gave Scott a puzzled look, which turned more concerned as I stood there longer. He must have caught onto what I was thinking because almost immediately he was following me back upstairs. We walked down the hallway together, my breathing slightly heavier as I was anticipating what was going to happen next. My heart felt like it was coming out of my chest the moment I heard moans coming from the inside of one of the guest rooms.

It could go one of two ways, either we walk in and catch Monty and Sheri together, or we've just ruined some horny teenagers hook up. I crossed my fingers for the second choice. I swung the door open fast and low and behold, Monty and Sheri are on the other side. The shock on their faces as they see Scott and I standing there in the doorway was priceless. Without hesitation, Monty pushes Sheri off of him and quickly puts his clothes back on as he's beginning to chase me running down the stairs and out the front door. I can already feel the tears flowing down my face as I couldn't believe what I had just witnessed, my best friend and my boyfriend. Together. "Champ, what's wrong" a concerned but also drunk Bryce asks, seeing me in that state. "Ask my ex-boyfriend" I sniffle before continuing to run out the door, hearing my name being called by Monty.

By now, I am completely and utterly sober. All of the alcohol had completely left my body and I now only feel emptiness. I felt it was best that I just walk home, it is only down the road of course. I also felt the need for some fresh air, I could not deal with this tonight. "Baby, stop please" I hear a familiar voice call from behind me, his steps getting closer to me each time. "Hey, you weren't supposed to see that", he said grabbing my wrists, possibly to stop me from punching him in the face. "Don't touch me, I hate you" I seethe, yanking my hands away from him as I now see Jeff's car come into view.

"Get in the car, Mais" I hear Jeff speak, or order. I couldn't really tell. I just wanted to go home and cry. "I can walk" I scoffed back, continuing my walk to my house that was only 6 or 7 houses away. Jeff puts his car into park in the middle of the road before getting out and making his way towards Monty and I. "Not now man, come on" I hear Jeff say as Monty still continues to shout my name out hoping I'd listen. Jeff takes me and puts me into his car where Zach is already sitting, wanting to intervene but also being told by Jeff to stay in the car. "Sit with Zach, please" I hear Jeff whisper as he places me on Zach's lap. I nodded my head lightly, placing my head onto his chest as he tries his best to calm me down in his drunken state.

We pull up outside my house almost minutes later. My cheeks now stained with tears, my eyes puffy and red. I thank Jeff and Zach for getting me home safely before practically running inside my house, not allowing them a second to say anything back to me. It was then and only then that I broke down behind the front door of my house.
