Chapter 2

Kensi's POV

I wake up and roll over. I'm so tired but once I'm awake, I'm awake. Time to get ready to go to work. Wait a second- today's Christmas. Unlike others, for me Christmas is not a time to be cheerful. Because of that day eight years ago. That was the morning I woke up and Jack was gone. I still sort of decorate. I have a small tree in the living room with a few baubles. Nothing special. I mean, I haven't really enjoyed Christmas since then.

Deeks's POV

OH MY GOD!! It's Christmas today!! Yay!! I can't wait to see everyone! I love Christmas! I jump out of bed and run into the living room in my pyjamas and socks. I have this massive tree with baubles and lights and tinsel. I have reindeer and stockings all over the house. There are even these mini Santas that I have sitting around the place. The front of my house is absolutely covered with colourful lights that I turn on at night. I make breakfast, get dressed and wait. Today Kensi is coming over. Sam is with Michelle and Kamran. Callen is with Joelle. I don't know what Eric and Nell are doing but they're either with family or together. Hetty is... Well I have no idea. Kensi is coming over because her mum is in New York. Then the doorbell goes off. I run to the door and swing it open revealing Kensi in a baggy top and tight skinny-jeans. Her beautiful, soft brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail. She is wearing red converse. She is gorgeous!

"Hello? Anyone in there?" She snaps a finger in front of my face. I was staring.

"What? Oh yeah, hey! Come on in!" She smiles and walks in."Merry Christmas, Kens!"

"Yeah, I don't really like Christmas."

"What?! Who doesn't love Christmas?!" I ask, shocked.

"Me. I just said that!" She jokes.

"May I ask why?"

"You can, but I won't tell you." She says.

"Ok, ok. Well even if you don't love Christmas in general, you are sure to have a great day today."

"May I ask why?" She says, repeating what I said before.

"You can, but I won't tell you." She smiles. I love making her smile. I lean down and press my lips to hers. The kiss is sweet and soft but full of passion. We stay that way for a few minutes. Then I remember what I got her. I told her I wouldn't give it to her until Christmas. I pull away and run over to the tree. There is only one gift left. I take it back over to her.

"Merry Christmas, Fern." I hand her the box and she punches my shoulder. Hard. Like, really hard. I wince but try and keep my cool. I don't succeed. She tears off the wrapping paper and I reveals a long velvet box. She looks up at me and open the box. I got her a gold chain necklace with a little handgun on it.

"I know you're not much of a jewellery girl, but I saw it and it just screamed 'Badass Blye'"

"Deeks, it's awesome! I love it! Thank you." She turns around and click the necklace around her neck. She pecks me on the cheek.

"Let's watch some movies. Pizza for lunch?"

"Of course!" We sit down on the lounge. I rest my arm along the top of the sofa and Kensi sits really close to me. We put 'The Heat' on. It is hilarious. It's about these two female cops, one local, one FBI, who are the complete opposite but they have to work together on this case about drug dealing. The local, Mullins, played by Melissa McCarthy, is so badass, she swears so much and everyone does what she says because they know if they don't, she'll probably shoot their nuts off. She actually threatened a guy by pointing a gun to his balls. She even threw a phone book at a guy. The FBI, Ashburn, played by Sandra Bullock, is a very uptight, by-the-book cop. The two eventually become friends. Kensi couldn't stop laughing.
