Friday afternoon, Afterschool

I hugged all my friends tightly, knowing it was the last time I'd ever feel this way again.

"Say hi to Christian for us!" Serena yelled, making kissing noises as I walked towards my mom's car.

A roar of laughter escaped from their little huddle and I smiled to myself. I was looking forward to seeing Christian, we had never met before but I always felt like we knew each other so well. Christian lives all the way in Houston and I assumed I would never meet him. I became satisfied with texting and calling him for the past 6 months, I hadn't made the progression to facetime yet because I was too scared he would find me utterly repulsive compared to my Instagram pictures. But last month my mom got a big opportunity to be a partner in a firm in Houston and Christian was my first thought. My friends constantly tease me, insisting that he's a fat, 40-year-old catfish finding pleasure from grooming a 17-year-old girl but I know he's real Keira Brown (mom) :

Saturday morning, moving day- New house

"Kaiser!" my mom said lightly shaking me awake, "we're here, come help unpack cause i'm not about to do all the heavy lifting after hours of driving. Get up"

"oh leave her alone Keira, let her sleep if she wants to" my dad playfully scolds my mum.

I won't lie, I'm a daddy's girl; My dad and I have always been so close. Growing up my mum was always so busy following her law career but my dad always worked for himself, managing his own money transfer app but I won't go further as that is dangerously boring. He was always there to keep me company as I had no siblings to do so and I love him for it.

"don't worry, don't worry I'm coming" I groan, grinning at my dad.

I open the boot of the jeep and start loading boxes in.
