I mustered up all the courage I had in me, and took a deep breath before stepping out of my run down Nissan, and locking the door behind me. As I made my way along the concrete that lined up with the school's double door entrance, I could hear footsteps trailing behind me followed by a small snicker.I really wish I could just go unnoticed by everyone and just finish my final year as a student at this school, in peace. But unfortunately for me, it doesn't work like that here, because when you experiment with a nerd's attire (with geeky glasses that are way too big by the way), along with a fake high pitched voice, you suddenly become the school's punching bag. Take it from me, it's no fun at all, infact, I wouldn't even keep up the nerd act if it wasn't necessary for me to be able to attend this school.
"Where do you think you're going, geek?"
"Crazy." I sighed to myself, smirking slightly at my awesome attempt at comedy.
"What'd you say freak!"
What?! How the hell did I upset Them?! Oh yeah, there's a 'them' now.
"N-nothing." I stuttered out with that irritatingly fake high-pitched voice, and continued walking down the hall to my locker, while making sure to keep my head down in case anyone else should take it upon themselves to be horrible and foul-mouthed. I mean, it's not like I've ever done anything to them, hell, I don't even know what that guy's name was.
Once I approached my locker, I reached out to enter in the combination for the lock and grabbed my book for my first class, and froze in my spot the second I heard his voice. Not because I like him - I mean, I don't - but because him and his clan are the reason I go home almost every afternoon with cuts and bruises, and once, a broken rib.
'Well well well, if it isn't M-m-m-marcel." he mocked, as I gulped and slowly turned to face him and the rest of the crew. Louis. He was standing directly in front of me, with the rest of the group behind him, watching whilst egging him on. His piercing blue eyes glared at me, waiting for a response. I clutched my book tightly in my arms, as if it were protecting me from what I know is coming shortly.
They continue scowling at me, as if waiting for some kind of reaction. I looked back down and shuffled my feet, knowing better than to just walk away because these guys are fast, and it's not like I could get anywhere in these old grandpa clothes before they tackled me, I know from experience. Never again.
"What's wrong? Cat got your tongue? Man, you're pathetic." Aiden stepped forward, he's the worst. Aiden is your typical high school jock, just like his friends, he's known as one of the 'populars' and it's gone completely to his head, hence making him an utter jerk. I've known him since I started high school, he's always taken every opportunity he's gotten to give me a piece of his mind, which often revolves around the subject of what I like. Or more specifically, who I like.
Before I could even glance back up at him, two hands grabbed my upper arms from behind, and I may have let out a startled shriek before they began pushing me down the hall towards what I assume would be an empty bathroom, or classroom. This was how it worked at school, they'd greet me in an unpleasant way, and then drag me away somewhere so they could beat me up, and then I'd go to class pretending that nothing had happened. It's so messed up, I know. I've acquired some rather great lying skills over the years with this becoming a daily routine, and helping to keep some other large secrets, well, secret.
I stumbled on my feet, as I was thrown down on the cold tiles of the bathroom floor. I tried to stagger back up, but even I knew it was useless. One of the five guys that were now surrounding me, booted my shin, which sent me tumbling down like a sack of potatoes, making me land awkwardly on my shoulder. I felt a sudden burst of pain wash over me, causing me to shudder uncontrollably while some of the jerks continued to punch and kick at me. I curled up into a ball, trying to protect my head, but failing miserably. I shut my eyes, keeping them closed tightly, while doing my best to think of something other than the excruciating pain I was experiencing, yet again. And it's still early in the day.
