Newt and you were sitting next to Alby's bed. His state wasn't better and no one really knew how to cure him.
The girl was still asleep, and you, you couldn't stop thinking about the dream you've made the other night.

Your thoughts were interrupted when a gladder entered the room, obviously looking for you.

"Y/n, they're back and they found something. They are at the council hall," the young boy said, looking between Newt and you. The two of you stood up and ran to them.

When you entered the room, the whole group that went explore plus Gally was there. He seemed pissed and Minho and the others were talking about something they found.
Newt and you walked down the stairs and joined Thomas.

"What did you found?" you asked.

Thomas handed you a cylindrical metallic object. There were electrical wires on the side of it and a small screen with a 7 written on it.

"What is that?" you asked, looking up at your friend, as you let Newt looking at it.

"It was inside the griever we killed last night," answered Thomas.

Newt showed you six letters on the side of the object.

"It's the same letters we have on our supplies," he said looking at the group "WICKED"

"Exactly. Whoever put us here obviously created the grievers," started Thomas "And this is the first clue you find in three years, right Minho?"

The boy nodded and Newt looked back down at the object in his hands, passing his thumb on the little screen.

"Guys, we have to go back out there. Who knows where this might lead us," Thomas said.

Gally looked at you and Newt.

"You see what he's trying to do right? First, he breaks our rules and now he's trying to convince us to abandon the place," Newt and you looked at each other, letting Gally finish his speech "The rules always has been the thing that held us together, why now are we questioning that? To me, this shank needs to be punished," he finished pointing to Thomas.

"You're done?" you asked.

You turned to Thomas. "Gally is right. One night in the slammer without food,"

"Do you really think this is going to prevent him from going into the maze?!" asked Gally.

"No. We can't have no runners going into the maze just like that."

Gally nodded in a agreement and you turned to Thomas.

"Starting from tomorrow, you're a runner," you decided.

Everyone looked at you, and nodded, knowing you made a good decision.
Gally, on the other hand, sighed and went outside. Frypan tried to stop him, but he didn't listen.

"Thanks Y/n," said Thomas with a small smile. You nodded at him and turned to Minho.

"You know what to do,"

The boy nodded at you and started leading Thomas to the map room out in the forest.

After everyone got out, you sighed and turned to Newt. He looked at you with a comforting smile.

"A lot of things are happening lately. I don't even know how to handle it," you said.

"With Alby, and the new girl, it's normal for you to feel this way," he said as he came closer. "But I know that you can do it,"

He opened his arms and you felled in them as he wrap them around you. You looked up at him and laughed a little.

"What is it?" he asked.
