DING DING! The bell rang. Standing up, I packed up all my belongings and walked out the door to go to my next class. While I was walking down the hallway I heard someone call out to me.
"Hey! I forgot to give you your pencil back!" Cole shouted. He galloped up to me (with more effort than was probably needed) and held out his hand to give my pencil back, trying to catch his breath.
"Keep it. I've already got plenty of pencils at home." I said to him with a blank face.
"Okay! Thank you so much!" He gave me a smile that stretched from ear to ear. "By the way, may I know your name? We sit beside each other so it might be better if we're somewhat acquainted" He said happily. God. How annoying. Can he not take a hint? *sigh* Why won't he just let me be?
"My name is Amelia. Now leave me alone." I growled.
"Sorry for taking up your time," he said scratching his head, with a shy smile. "I hope we can be friends!"
I scoffed. Is he serious?!
"I don't need friends, so just leave me alone! I am going to be late for class because of you!"
"Um okay then. See you next English class I guess," said Cole as things turned awkward again.
As I was about to leave, I heard tens of loud footsteps that sounded much like a stampede. When I looked behind me, there were a bunch of girls and guys gathering around him like he's some sort of king or something.
"Cole! You should sit by me!" Shouted an adoring fan.
"And me!" Squealed another.
"Cole let's go eat lunch together!" Said a girl as she grabbed his arm.
"No! Cole is going to eat with me!" Hissed another girl who grabbed his other arm. Everyone was fighting against each other over Cole. What's so special about him? This whole display is so obnoxious. I'm out of here.
I assume Cole is the popular kid I heard everyone gush about so much. I started to get irritated with all the yelling and screaming between literally 50 people I turned around and left for my next class.
"Wait! Amelia!" Cole yelled, attempting to break away from the throng of people. When Cole called out to me, many girls glared at me with such ferocity and petty jealousy, I thought I might drop dead. I gladly returned their looks back to them, unfazed.
Even though Cole kept calling out to me, I ignored him and kept walking. I don't want to get caught up with someone like Cole. He's the type of person to use someone and then toss them aside once he's bored. I can't trust anyone anymore. I can't let the past repeat itself. I can't even bring myself to think about those memories because they only bring pain. I can't allow myself involved with him. I don't want to see him again.
