Book Title: To All the Men I've F*cked [or Almost] Before
Book Genre: New Adult/Romance
Author: rubyranawrites
Character Name: James Marsden
About the story:
Megh is in the midst of the Death Valley-like desert of dry spells.
She recounts her admittedly limited sex life, backtracking through every near encounter, every notable partner, in an attempt to extract the exact reason why it's been so long since she's gotten laid.
James, thanks for stopping by. Can I call you James or do you prefer a nickname?
James is fine. Only my family calls me by my nicknames.
Welcome and thanks for agreeing to talk to us today.
Absolutely.
Can I get you something to drink? Water? Soda? Coffee? Wine? Whiskey?
Might be too early for whiskey. I'll have coffee.
I always subscribe to the "its 5 o'clock somewhere" theory but I'll join you in a coffee. Tell me a little about yourself?
Oh, fu—geez, I'm terrible at this. I'm just a Midwestern guy trying to stay awake in the city that never sleeps.
Where do you live?
Williamsburg, in Brooklyn, New York City. NYC is as full of life as shown on TV, and I love it.
Do you have any jobs or hobbies?
I'm an environmental engineer who enjoys cooking, baking and drinking. Drinking's a hobby, right? But only when you're legal, kids.
It certainly is in my books. What are some of your likes and dislikes?
Well, shi—oot, I'll have to think of some PG ways of saying these things.
I enjoy indie movies and music, and spending time with my girlfriend, if you catch my drift.
I really hate liars and cheaters, and being left out of important conversations about things that affect me.
Got you loud and clear. What is your greatest fear?
*gulps* Losing her.
If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?
There's a lot that could be changed, but I try my best not to dwell in the past. Live and learn, right? I like to think I've learned something from every mistake I've made.
Excellent attitude. Are you happy we know your story?
I mean, sure. Though I wish you didn't know the nitty gritty details about my *cough* intimate life.
Tee hee. A few rapid fire questions. Do you exercise or are you a couch potato?
I do a little of both. A good run through the neighborhood is cleansing, but so is eating a home-cooked meal on the couch, especially if you're sharing it with your dream girl while watching something ridiculous on the comedy channel.
Do you have any events or people in your past who affect you today?
My ex-girlfriend from college, Emily was my first love, and she treated me like shi—poop. Her countless lies planted seeds of doubt and insecurity deep within me, and it sometimes causes me to jump to conclusions and imagine situations which don't exist in my current relationship. Megh calls me out on it though.
Who's your favourite person in the world?
Would it be sappy if I said my girlfriend, Megh? I honestly can't get enough of her. She surprises me daily with her wit, charm, and ability to remember everything she reads. She's also *cough* very skilled in the bedroom. And out of the bedroom. Sorry, *clears throat* I'm getting carried away here. But it's enough to bring a man to his knees.
Are you in love?
Very much so. *dopey grin* Luckily, she loves me, too.
Do you have a secret?
Maybe. I'll share only if you promise not to tell. *looks around* If all goes to plan...*whispers* I'm gonna marry her.
*whispers" secret is safe with me. Ahem, is there anything you want to say to your fans?
I have fans?
Oh you do! Can we look forward to reading more of your story?
I hope there's a lifetime filled with vignettes of our story.
That's a perfect place to end this interview. Thank you James for talking with me today.
