Loving 2 boys at once

Start of 11th grade

The hallways are crowded with all the students, ready to start the first day of a new school year. A lot of chatters are heard. 

James is organising his stuff in his locker for the 3th time. He is really perfectionist. At the left side of his locker, Hailey is leaning against some other lockers with her arms crossed. 

She rolls her eyes. " Do you need a ruler to check if everything is on the right line?" 

He looks at her and narrows his eyes a little, not saying a thing. Hailey puts her hands up in defence. " Sorry.." And crosses her arms again. 

Hailey looks around, searching for someone. " Is Jake already here, or is he late again?" 

James shuts his locker shut. Everything is finally as he wishes in his locker. He looks at Hailey and puts his backpack on his shoulders. " Probably the last thing. " 

Hailey smirks. " Typical." 

James looks at his watch. It's already 8.20 and classes start in 5 minutes. " He still has 5 minutes to get on time." 

" Already getting in trouble on the first day.. He's starting well." Hailey smirks.

James crosses his arms and narrows his eyes. " You are the one to talk, trouble-maker. Didn't you get, along with Jake, get detention on the first day last year because you had messed with the screws of the teacher's desk?" 

Hailey puts her head back and leans it against the lockers. She smiles. " Hmmm... Almost forgot that one." 

5 minutes pass... The bell rings

Hailey takes up her backpack. And start walking with James to their first class, when suddenly Jake comes  running from around the corner. He stops in front of them. He's puffing. 

" Good timing, Jake. You made a very good start again this year. Planning on making a habit of it?" Hailey smirks.

Jake laughs sarcasticly. " Like you need to talk. For once you are not in trouble... Yet." 

Hailey rolls her eyes. " Yeah yeah.. Let us just go. That would be great."  She walks, leaving the guys behind. The guys smirk and follow behind her. 

Lunch time.. 

The guys were already at their usual seat in the cafetaria. Hailey is later in the cafetaria. She is just about to go and walk up to the guys when Elsy comes standing in front of her, behind her Emily and Jenny. Hailey puts her plate back down and faces them.  

Elsy, one of the popular girls, narrows her eyes at Hailey. " Do I need to remind you that Ethan is off limits, bitch?" 

" What?" 

Emily, one of Elsy's followers, rolls her eyes. " Don't pretend you don't know what she's talking about." 

Hailey smirks. " So, I made out with him a little last night. Last time I checked he and I are both single. "

Elsy grumbles. " Ooh but that won't be for long. Everybody knows how to stay away from Ethan, but clearly you don't." 

" Don't worry.. I won't see him anymore.. yet." Hailey smirks and turns around to take her plate. Elsy wants to hit her, but Hailey's rescue is already there. Before Elsy can do something, Jake is already standing in front of her. Hailey turns back to Elsy. Jake is standing in front of Hailey. 

" Elsy, great seeing you. Don't you think it's time to leave now?" Jake smiles sarcasticly. Elsy narrows her eyes. She looks Hailey. " You're lucky your bodyguard showed up. I'll be back. "

Elsy and her crew leave. Jake sighs and turns around to Hailey. "What have you done now?"  Hailey puts up her shoulders. " So I made out with Ethan, last night. It was a one time thing." 

" We were hanging out at your place untill 8. What did you do then?" Jake asks. He is a little protective over Hailey. 

She rolls her eyes. " So? Yeah, I went out after you guys left and talked to Ethan at the nearby café. And yeah, the kissing happened a little bit. Then I went home. I was in my bed by 10pm, dad." 

Jake looks a little mad. " Try staying out of trouble for once day, please." 

Hailey takes her plate. " Whatever. You don't always need to protect me, I can handle myself. I'm tough." 

Jake smirks. " This time I did it to prevent more trouble, because I know it would have gone out of hand if I hadn't showed up." 
Hailey rolls her eyes and walks to their table.  She sits down in front of James and starts eating, ignoring Jake.

Jake takes place next to her. " You tell her she needs to stop seeking trouble. Everytime I sound like the bad guy." He says to James.

He picks his food. " Just both stay out of trouble for once. That would also come in handy." 

Jake narrows his eyes and start eating. James looks up and looks to a table a few row away. He smiles when he sees Anna, a little brunette with brown eyes. He has a crush on her ever since last year. Only problem is that he is too scared to walk up to her and ask her out. 

Hailey notices James looking at another table. She follows his gaze and then looks back at him smirking. " Oooh have you asked her out ?"

Jake looks at Anna and then back at James. " Off course not, he's too chicken." 

"Because you flirt so much, doesn't mean I do. " James snaps. 

" If you don't ask her out soon, I will ask for you. " Hailey takes a sip of her drink and puts it back down. 

James points his fork at Hailey. " Don't you dare. You will humilate me if you do that." 

" Then ask her already." Jake says while putting a fork full of food in his mood.

James sighs. " I will.. Soon. Even if it's just to stop you guys teasing me about it." 

Hailey and Jake smirk at each other. James rolls his eyes. He knows they only mean well, but he knows very well if Hailey would go up to Anna in James' place that he would be embarrased. So James plans on asking her by the end of the day. But he needs to have her alone without Jake and Hailey around. With them around, he knows that would not go well and it needs to be perfect in his eyes.
