Minions eyes widened. "You.... You were Sirs best friend! He thought you were dead!" Minion said in shock. Yin looked at Minion in equal shock. "Dead? Megamind thought I was dead? Who told him that?" Yin asked. "No one told Sir about your welfare that day so we assumed the worst. And he got a life sentence for it.... And then he blocked it out. If he ever gets away from that maniac, he won't remember you..." Minion answered. Yin looked crushed. "I thought that he knew.... Poor Megamind.... That's not fair.... If I knew what happened, I would've tried to convince anyone I knew to get that charge dropped and beg my parents to bail him out...." Minion looked at the man. "What happened that day? If you don't mind me asking." Yin sighed and began telling the other half of the story. The one that could prove Megamind innocent of past charges.
Yin was surrounded by five older boys and they were beating him up because they saw him hanging out with Megamind. Yin was curled up into a ball to protect himself the best he could from the punches and kicks landed on him. No one was coming to help as the officers on the juvie school shift was lazy as hell and only would intervene if something drastic happened or if someone was dead. How was a kid being beat to a pulp not drastic enough for action? It was then that Yin head a cry of fear and pure rage and saw Megamind literally threw the boys off of him, causing his attackers to hit the walls and lockers. Yin peeked from his makeshift ball of protection to see that his friends eyes were glazed over by a red hue, making Megaminds eyes darker.
The boys got up and went to attack back but Megamind kept them down and away from his friend. Yin saw that despite his uncontrollable rage, Megamind made sure to not kill the boys. It was like another part of him was holding him back from commiting murder. Yin was amazed at his friends strength. Was he working out? Was this some adrenaline thing going on? Yin didn't care. He was just glad that his friend was standing up for himself and Yin. It was usually the other way around. It showed that Yins kindness was not taken for granted and that Megamind wanted a genuine friendship. Yin was willing to give that to him. Eventually the boys stopped trying to attack Megamind. They were too injured to. They broke some bones but they lived.
Before Yin could get up and thank his friend for the rescue, police took Megamind and Minion away. They wouldn't let Yin explain what happened as they took Megamind away. The teen was heartbroken. His life was saved but he never got to say thank you. Sure Megamind did bad things but once you got to know him, Megamind was a good hearted person who just wanted to belong. Unlike Megamind who thought he was destined to be evil and felt like he had no choice to be, those officers were corrupt, evil. They chose their path. It wasn't forced on them like it was on Megamind. That day Yin vowed that even if Megamind didn't know it, Yin would always side with him, evil or good.
Yin was bailed out by the Wardens sister the next day. Like Megamind, Yin was an orphan from a far, unknown planet only he crashlamded in an orphanage. Not the best place to live for fifteen years but it wasn't bad either. The owner was a bitch though. It turned out the Wardens sister and her husband were willing to adopt a child and Yin fit the bill. The family was good to him and loved him. As Yin grew up, he never forgot what Megamind did and each time he thought about it, he would piece together clues to prove Megamind innocent. Once he was an adult and found out Megamind became defender of Metro City, Yin went to Metro Citys police academy to become a cop. After graduating top of his class, Yin applied for a detective in his uncles jail. He got the job and began helping with cases and on the side, doing his own investigating to weed out any corrupt cops. His uncle was aware of this and allowed him to do it.
Then the fateful day of Megaminds capture went live. Yin was horrified to see his friend bruised and weakened like that. It wasn't like Megamind to be beaten down. When the last broadcast was sent, Yin lost it and punched the TV.... But it didn't hurt. And when he pulled it away from the broken glass, Yin saw he had no injury. He looked at the TV, wishing it was back to normal. Just then, right before his eyes, Yins TV turned back to normal. It was like nothing happened. He turned on the TV. It worked. He then tested out this ability and realized he had the power to change reality. "Reality Manipulation? Is that why I was sent away from my planet?" he wondered. It was the most likely idea. It was probably the same scenario Megamind and Metro Man had. Destruction of planet, sent to Earth to be spared, blah blah blah. Typical origin stuff. It didn't matter though. He didn't want to be a full fledged hero. That was Megaminds job and he was going to make sure Megamind got that job back...
"So you have powers?" Minion asked. "I think so. I mean, it makes sense. It's also quite complicated. I can't change stuff that occured in the past like WW2 but small stuff like erasing mouths and making things unbroken I can do. Don't know how big I can go to just yet but I know I can't go too big." Yin explained. He sighed and looked at Minion. "I'm sorry. About all of this. I want to make it up to Megamind. Not only because I owe him for saving my life but because he is our friend. So if you let me, I will do what I can with my lawful duties and powers to help." Yin saud. Minion smiled and hugged Yin. "Welcome back buddy oh! And fuck you." Minion said jokingly. Yin hugged back with a chuckle. "Thanks, fishface. And fuck you too. Let's get our friend back. His fianceé will murder us if we don't."
