we meet up to make our way to school everyday, and walk home together after orchestra and volleyball as often as i could convince my sister to give me extra time.
he always insists on having me sit down in the train, and will stand right in front of me, holding onto the overhead handles.
when it's crowded and he does this, he always gets really blushy but will use his other hand to hold mine because he knows it calms me down.
one day there wasn't any seats left on the train at all, and it was super crowded. and in the commotion getting onto the train, i got seperated from kenma and was squeezed in the large throng of people.
i've always been more on the short side, and it was rush hour so a bunch of office workers who were mainly men were surrounding me on every side. and as you can imagine, as someone with claustrophobia and anxiety, it was a scary experience for me.
i felt my breathing start to grow erratic and my head was spinning uncontrollably. when i suddenly felt a firm grip on my wrist, i startled and instinctively tried to pull away forcefully.
"hey! kiyo."
i turned to see my angel of a boyfriend pushing through the crowd to get to me, and i felt the tears of fear turn into tears of relief. the train suddenly started moving, jolting me to finally fall into his open arms.
i suddenly didn't care that we were in public and surrounded by people, i just held her with one arm, and used my other to grab on tightly to the overhead handles.
"shhh... it's okay, now. i'm right here, bunny," i whispered softly into her ear.
i buried my face into his chest and breathed in his familiar scent until my heart stopped racing and my breathing evened out.
when she looked up at me, her hair all messed up, cheeks red and eyes still watering, my heart broke a little.
"i'm sorry i didn't hold onto you, love." i whispered, then kissed her forehead lightly.
from then on, every single time we rode the train, he was always holding me in some way, not even caring when lev and yamamoto rode with us and teased him about it slightly.
"you guys are just mad you don't have your own girlfriend to hold," i said, and stuck my tongue out at them teasingly.
that shut them up.
