the best of unexpected ~ a kozume kenma fanfic

weekend mornings

weekend mornings are the best though.

you can bet we'll wake up at like 1 to 3 pm. we were up till like 3am the night before playing video games or binge watching something, since at heart we're still the same 16 year old carefree kids we were years ago. just with adult jobs now.

i'd usually wake up first, since my sleep schedule isn't too out of wack, but kenma spends most nights sleeping at 2am and taking multiple naps throughout the day, so he'll sleep wayyyyyy longer than i do if i don't bother him.

usually i'll wake up to his head still on my chest from the night before, his arms wrapped around my middle.

so i'll sigh a little and just rub his head, playing with his hair. he'll make a little "mmm" sound and nuzzle into my touch and my heart will explode.

after like 5 minutes of this i start to feel my entire upper body get a little cold, so i'll gently push him off me and try to stand up.

oh but no, kenma is a very light sleeper.

"ken, let go of my hand."

"ahh but it's so earlyyy... come back."

i'll have to pull out of his hold, saying i  want to brush my teeth first, since i felt gross.

he reluctantly lets go of me, sending me off to the bathroom with a slight demand to come back right after.

i just laugh and brush my teeth and wash my face, the usual stuff.

then go back to our room to see kenma drifting back to sleep again, hugging a pillow like a little baby. i open the blinds just a little to get some sunlight in, cueing an upset and grunting kenma.

i just smile and walk over, brushing a bit of his fading blonde hair from his scrunched closed eyes. he cracked an eye open, looking up at me.

"hmmm, with the light around you, you look like an angel bunny."

(lol what)

he pulled me into bed again, yeeting the pillow he was hugging to be replaced with me.

i'm a bit surprised at first, but eventually i snuggle into him and find a more comfortable position.

"i think i'll never get tired of waking up to seeing your face, love." he murmured.

a/n: sorry this chapter seems a little rushed!! i just wanted to write a tiny bit of fluff because i've been feeling looonelyyyy these past few days.
