Time Flies When You're Having Fun

On the first day I taught the two of them the fundamentals of snowboarding and later met up with a few hometown friends and went bar hopping. We had gotten so drunk that as soon as we got back to the hotel we passed out. The 2nd day, I took them all the way to Boulder to see my college even though I wasn't attending in person. They were impressed by the size of the campus and the mountain ranges that surrounded it. On the 3rd day, we spent most of our time in Aspen and had dinner with my mom. She loved them most likely because of the way she could tell they made me happy. Then the last day came.

I don't know how, but time flies when you're having fun. Four days somehow turned into a few hours in no time. I, once again, had to say goodbye but this time it seemed harder. This time I held back tears as I watched them load the rental car with their luggage. Narrator was the first to notice and brought me in for a big hug. "Hey, it's okay," He said sweetly, "We will see you again soon." I gave a half smile but I was still visibly upset. "You're going to miss him huh?" I shook my head softly letting a single tear roll down my cheek. "Well, I can tell you he is going to miss you too. A lot. I'll give you two a few moments, okay?" He wiped the water off of my rosey cheeks as he spoke to me like a caring parent. He stepped aside to Gaege and made a few gestures before getting into the car.

"I'm glad I decide to do this," Gaege smiled as he walked up to me. "I got to learn so much about you... look... I-," He bit his lip hesitant to say anything. "I really like you." Hearing him say those words made more tears run down my face. "Fuck, I'm sorry. Did I say something wrong?" He started to panic.

"No," I giggled through slightly crying, "No. Not at all. I'm actually really happy."

"Well than stop crying," he smiled jokingly as he wiped the tears away.

"I just don't want to see you leave because I really like you too."

"Hey, it won't be long before I see you again," he winked, making me smile once more. "Remember when I told you you can come stay with me for the summer? That offer still stands. This is far from a goodbye. I'll see you later. Okay?" I shook my head. "Okay?" He wasn't leaving without me verbally answering him.

"Okay," I smiled.

"Now come here." He pulled me in for a hug. Gaege wrapped his arms around me as tight as he could and squeezed causing me to laugh a bit. He laid his cheek on the top of my head for a second then kissed my forehead before letting me go and looking down at me. He smiled and planted another kiss on my lips. He pulled away and started to slowly step back. "I'll see you later."

"See ya." He stepped away without taking his eyes off of me, smiling and looking like a lovestruck idiot. "Have a safe flight."

"You too. Wait. I mean, have a safe drive home." I watched as he got into the car and drove away as narrator waved goodbye. Once they were out of sight I jumped in my car and drove home.

"Dude," Narrator spoke.

"What?" Gaege answered.

"Dude," Narrator said louder.

"What?" Gaege did the same.

"Don't mess this up."

"Trust me, I'm trying not to. I think she will be staying with me come summer and I'm planning on something for christmas for her."

"You know, I didn't think you were a real romantic type."

"Look, I get it. You're a big teddy bear and a hopeless romantic but I am still a human being who still wants to live a normal life even though my life is far from normal."
