KASIA

My stylist wants to continue the 'Ice Queen' theme but I refuse to be known as 'the other one'. Rarity... I think her name was looked superb on her icy chariot. A true Ice Queen whereas I looked like a stupid wannabe.

Instead she suggests a 'silent and deadly' approach. Not that I have a choice as she's already chosen the dark palette of browns and reds for my make-up. "The innocent look is so-o-o-o overrated" She explains in a thick accent "We need you to look like... like you're ready for anything"

I'm forced to switch my lilac contacts for a more earthly brown on the basis that I can keep my green highlights. She clearly isn't happy with this deal as she eyes me with disdain. The dress she squeezes me is made of a muddy brown material that falls to the floor. The ruffle on the sleeve scratch my shoulders as she makes adjustments.

Suddenly she's behind me yanking on my hair. She violently pulls it into a tight high ponytail before sending me off with a few pieces of advice. Today we're being interviewed by Ravea, the head Game Maker, Joanna, A particularly violent previous winner, and Sky, the truest form of a taskmaster trainer. I don't know what to say when I'm called I mean all my stylist said was "Remember Silent and Deadly" and I'm no good at either.

Luckily the moment my bottom touches the rough, plastic chair Ravea starts the interrogation, "Ah hello Kasia. Let's get down to business shall we? How does it feel to know you're not the only Ice Queen here?"

Silent and deadly becomes the mantra that runs through my brain as I reply "Each to their own" I finish it with a shrug to show the crowd that I don't care.

"Yeah but you must have an opinion on it" She probed "How do you think Rarity looked?"

"Good" Again I shrugged "She pulled the look of well"

"Do you have a strategy?" Joanna asks.

Sky shakes her head "Straight down to business Joanna? You disappoint me"

Joanna just laughs. "I've seen death before and could kill someone just as easily as someone older and stronger than me. I will do everything I can do to be the one that comes home at the end of it"

"So tell us about your feelings about the games and your life before the rebellion" Ravea leans forward in her seat slightly like she was trying to be friendly. Shame you can see the cogs whirling in her brain as she thinks of an interesting way to kill me.

"You're just doing this for revenge!" I state "And that's a rubbish excuse! My home life? Well... I went to the best school with the most amazing people. I love my family and going to work with my sister Cressida. That's all I'm gonna say"

Sky mumbles something to Joanna that inaudible to me and the crowd. When she's finished Joanna's grinning like a wild cat. "You happy with your training score?" Sky asks.

"What did she get? A seven?" Joanna is laughing at some private joke.

"I was expecting a worse score. What I did wasn't anything special but let me assure you that I can do better and it was just the pressure of being watched." I felt the need to justify my score to the crowd even though seven was an okay score.

Ravea nods "Do you have any allies? If not who would you want as one?"

"None at the moment" I say keeping my option open. My stylist would be pleased that I was taking her advice to heart "But Rarity would be good as she looked truly deadly in the chariot ride or maybe Zonia or Xaveren, I would be stupid not to want the ones who gained the highest score."

"So we know who you admire but who do you fear?" Joanna stopped laughing just long enough to ask a question.

I thought about it carefully "I would be stupid not to say Rarity, as she probably has put a massive target on my head for using the Ice Queen idea, Torao is also scary in a way. He has that look about him... I can't explain it"

Sky seems thoughtful "And lastly who do you want to be sponsored by and why?"

"Ravea... because I don't trust Joanna enough to keep me alive long enough and Sky seems like the type that would make you suffer."

Ravea raised her eyebrow at this "And I wouldn't make you suffer?"

"That's not what I mean" I say quickly "You seem like the type that would give everyone a fair chance" The bell rings just as I finish the sentence and I quickly take my place among the other tributes.
