Isla's P.O.V
The ride back to the hotel was silent. Harry said nothing for a while, then, not attempting not to sound like a perv, "I want my prize tomorrow." I looked at him. He looked in a trance. He looked as if there was hurt and frustration in his eyes. Yet his smiled was pure happiness. He looked odd.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He didn't answer. He was deep in thought.
I was worrying. Worrying what Harry was thinking about. I looked at him. He still had the weird expression on his face and saw and heard nothing I said or did. "Harry? Are you okay? Look at me!" He wasn't listening. It was raining outside and there was little traffic. But suddenly there was a car coming in our direction.
Harry's P.O.V
I didn't know what came over me but I suddenly blurted out, "I want my prize tomorrow." I was sad and hurt that I couldn't have her. I knew she was afraid for the boys and I. I know she is developing feeling for Josh. And that's what hurt. But then I was happy that I had one shot to seduce her, to make her mine.
I know I looked odd. I had different expressions on my face. I faintly heard Isla trying to get my attention, but I couldn't focus on anything else. I was thinking of her.
I forgot I was driving. My mind went blank about everything but her. I suddenly heard a scream and snapped out of it. "Harry! Come back! Ahh!" Isla was screaming. I looked at her then at the road. There was a car approching us and fast. I noticed we were on the wrong side of the road. I swirved back into our lane and quickly pulled over.
As soon as the engine was off, I turned my attention to Isla. "I am so sorry. Are you alright?" I asked inspecting her. She face was bright red and she was breathing really heavy, but other than that, she was fine. Or so I thought.
"Harry. I'm fine. I need air, that's all." She snapped and got out of the car.
She stood out there for about 5 minutes leaning on the car. I decided I was going to get out and check on her. When I got around to her she didn't look good at all.
She was clutching her stomach and tears were strolling down her face. I automatically leaned in and grabbed her. I hugged her tight and rubbed circles on her back. "Harry, let go please." She whispered. I let go and she immediately doubled over and hurled.
I didn't know what to do. All I could do was rub her back and coo, "Everything is going to be okay." When she was doing throwing up she stood up straight. "You feel a bit better?" I asked. She nodded and slowly forced a smile. As she did, her eyes rolled back and she passed out.
I caught her just as she started to slide off the car. I opened the door and placed her on the passenger seat. I pulled out my cell and dialed 911. "How may I help?" I heard a voice. "Hello? My name is Harry Styles. I have a problem." I stopped to know that they were still on the line.
"What is your problem Mr.Styles?" The officer asked. "My friend just vomited and then passed out. I'm going to drive to New York Community Hospital. Please inform them I'm coming. It's an emergency." I said. "Okay. I will inform them. They will be ready. Anything else sir?" The person asked. "No. Bye." And I hung up.
I sped to the hospital and pulled up in front of it. I left Isla in the car and ran inside. I went up to reception. "I have an unconscious girl in my car. This is serious. She might be ill. I need your help. Please get someone to come get her." I begged. The woman's eyes went wide.
"Of course. We got a call that Mr.Styles was coming with an emergency case, from the police department. I will have a team now."
She called the emergency ambulance people who had nothing to do. They brought a gurney. I lead them out to the car. They took her into the emergency. The woman from the counter gave me a sheet and said, "If you could fill this out, it will be easier to treat your friend." I nodded and took a seat.
Your full name - Harry Edward Styles
Emergency patients full name - Isla Quinn
Patients age - 18 years old
Is the patient on any medicines? - Antibiotics to clear abdomen and pancreas
Has the patient been diagnosed with anything? - Nothing that we know of, but she was administered to hospital about a week ago
Has there been odd behaviour or any symptoms with the patient? - Light-headedness, naussea, diharrea, black-outs
I finished filling in the form. I was really worrying about Isla. I decided I wasn't going to tell any of the boys. I wasn't going to tell Paul either. It would just worry them to much. It's bad enough I was worried. I gave the form to the woman and she took it straight to an emergency doctor.
They were all taking care of her. I decided to look up her symptoms on Google. I came across a lot of illnesses but nothing that made sense. Then I came across something that was exactly like what was wrong with Isla - Gastroenteritis.
Gastroenteritis is a medical condition characterized by inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract that involves both the stomach and the small intestine, resulting in some combination of diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain and cramping - Wikipedia.
It fit perfectly. I didn't know what else to do now. I went to a vending machine and got some crisps and got a drink from a vending machine next to it. I went and sat down again.
I was sat down, thinking too much, for about an hour. Then, the woman at the reception call me over. "You can go see your friend. The doctor will fill you in on everything. She is in room G18" I nodded at her and smiled.
"Thank you." I said, and walked to Isla's room.
I knocked the door slightly and walked in slowly. The doctor smiled at me. He looked pretty young if you ask me. About 26 maybe? I smiled back at him. He was at the foot of Isla's bed going over the clip-board.
"You want to see?" He asked. I nodded a bit shyly. I wasn't in a particullary good mood so I didn't trust my words. He passed it to me.
It had all the details I wrote down on that form. I was pleased with myself for keeping my vocabulary decent while writing it. I scanned it over and stopped on one part of it.
Diagnosis - Gastroenteritis
I both meantly patted myself on the back for getting the diagnosis right, but I also broke down. Isla, sweet, caring, loving Isla had Gastroenteritis. I slowly looked up at the doctor who was doing check-ups on the girl led unconsious on the bed.
I put the clip-board back on the bottom of the bed and walked over to her. I sat down on the chair next to the bed. "I'm sorry Mr.Styles but her case is very bad. She has 14% chance of surviving." I felt a tear trace down my cheek.
The doctor placed a hand on my shoulder. "She's a fighter. She has been ill for a couple of years." He said in all honsety. I looked up at him and saw his big appologetic brown eyes. There was nothing about him suggesting he would lie to me. "She was and still is strong. Let's hope she uses the 14% chance and gets better. But it will take a long time. And it is very rare patients ever survive past 43%."
I nodded in realization that this was much more extreme than a little illness. "Thanks doc." I said.
He nodded and said, "If you need me just push this button and I will be here as fast as I can." I smiled at him as he showed me a little red button.
"Really. Thank you." I said. Then he left smiling sadly.
I decided I was going to text Louis as he was the only one who wouldn't fall for her because he already has a girl friend, Eleanor.
