Grian is a happy-go-lucky sort of hermit, pranks, mischief, and magic were in his nature. Well. The last one came in a bit later on in his life but it doesn't mean that it wasn't like second nature to use.
So when he started having dreams that made his magic go haywire, it caught his attention VERY fast.
Grian had just woken up from another magic fuelled dream with sparks of purple flames ignited around his body. This had happened quite a few times in the past 3 weeks, it wasn't like the dreams were bad either, they weren't nightmares, granted they weren't desirable. But still, they were always the same.Grian stood with his back facing two tall doors, one a light purple, and the other a deep blood red, an empty void laid out before him. There was nothing in it until a full body mirror appears only a few feet away from him. He didn't look any different at first glance however as his eyes drew upwards he saw two pale purple horns protruding from the start of his hairline and swooped backwards ending just at the back of his head. He raised his hand to touch them however it just went through. "ᓭ𝙹𝙹リ" a voice echoed "ᓭ𝙹𝙹リ ᒲ|| ᓵ⍑╎ꖎ↸"
And with that he always woke up. He didn't think anything of it at first, I mean what was he meant to think?
That was until IT started happening.
It was once again a normal day for Grian and he was working on his base when he noticed a pulsing pain in his head. It wasn't too bad so he carried on building until the pain became too unbearable. As he swayed side to side on the top of his mansion he held onto one of the walls, hoping that it would stable him to some degree. It was like someone had used a nausea potion on him, but that was impossible, he hadn't seen anyone in over a day thanks to working continuously on his soon to be home. He decided to go back to his hobbit hole to hopefully rest the headache off. 'Must just be because I'm overworking myself again' Grian thought as landed just outside of his hole. 'Yeah, it must be that'
And with that he fell asleep.
The same dream occurred just as most nights however the persistent headache seemed to follow him into his dreams. Again Grian thought nothing of it. Until he woke up.Once he woke up he noticed that the headache had started to dull a little bit, but that didn't meant that it didn't still hurt.
As Grian got out of bed he placed a hand on his head only to brush something with his fingertips. Something hard. And cold. He rushed towards the mirror in the side of his room as fast as his still waking body would allow.Horns.
Tiny, purple, horns.
Not even half an inch long but they were there. And they were noticeable.
'What the hell! How!?' Grian was freaking out. 'They were dreams! Not real! How the hell am I growing horns!?' He started to hyperventilate his vision spinning and getting blurry once again, falling to his knees. His chest felt tight as tears sprung to his eyes. He gripped onto the front of his red jumper as he tried to steady his breathing. 'In for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, out for 8 seconds' he kept repeating as his lungs felt less like burning. He couldn't let other hermits see this. 'They'll go away soon' he thought. "Yeah. Must just be my magic acting up again. It's happened before, granted never like this but still." He tried to reason with himself, saying the words out loud this time. "Let's just get back to building" he said as he took off his red jumper and replaced it with the same coloured hoodie. 'This should keep them hidden if anyone comes past' he though putting it on and unfurling his wings.
"At least these haven't changed".
