I really hope you guys are enjoying this so far ! I took a break from writing this and im so sorry, I had a lack of inspiration plus the stress with school! I hope you guys understand:)

-Hailey's POV-

I don't know how long I was out for, or what exactly had happened. But the only thing that was running in my mind was what happened, and why the thing decided to attack me. The feeling that I got from it was indescribable.

It almost made me feel empty

It made me feel like I would never be cheerful again. I absolutely hated it.

Eventually I found myself regaining enough strength to open my eyes and sit up. Sitting up I met eyes with Harry who had grabbed his head and sat on the seat. How did I get in their compartment? I looked around and saw Ron and Hermione looking at us worried, Hermione almost completely paled face. Did it attack her too?

"Hailey.. Harry, you guys look sick.. are you okay?" She asked making me stand up and wobble to sit next to Harry. I didn't have enough strength to answer.. well I did.. I just didn't want to.

"Here eat this.. it will make you feel better." A man sitting across from me chimed in as he handed Harry and I a piece of chocolate. "Its alright its chocolate." I hesitantly grabbed the chocolate as I studied his features. he had long scars across his face, and messy brown hair.. I never met this man before, but for some reason I felt like I knew him. He gave me a small smile as he seen me studying his features in confusion. Harry of course bringing the attention back onto himself and looking at the door of the compartment.

"w-what was that thing?" he croaked out as he straightened his posture.

"A dementor, one of the guards from Azkaban. Hes gone now, they were searching the train for Sirius Black." That's all it took for me to whip my head towards the man and scowl.

"What makes them think that we would be hiding him on the train?" I said slowly taking a bite out of the chocolate.

"I guess they learn to never be too careful." He said almost hesitantly as his eyes lingered between Harry and I before he swiftly got up and walked to the door. "I'm going to have a quick chat with the driver. You better eat it. It will make you feel better." He said gesturing his head to Harry. That's when I decided to look at my hands and completely zone out.

My skin was pale, and it looked almost lifeless. Taking the last piece of chocolate I had left in my hand, I lifted it up to my mouth and eat it. I looked up at harry, watching as he talked to the other 2 in the compartment. I didn't care enough to listen in. I was too busy replaying the events of what happened to even give a damn as to what conclusions they were jumping too this time. Eventually I decided to wobble out of the compartment and make my way to the table where my friends sat. I grabbed my head and groaned quietly as I walked to the table, everyone just observing me.

"Merlin, don't you guys have anything better to do instead of staring at me like that." I sassed out loud enough that at least a good portion of them would hear me. Out of the corner of my eye I see pansy making her way to me and grabbing my arm.

"You don't look to good Hailey. You should sit down." She said throwing my arm over her shoulder and walking us to our seat.

"Thanks Pansy." I say in almost a whisper. Eventually Pansy had convinced Blaise to sit on the other side with Draco so she could sit next to me. I sat down and leaned my head down propping on my folded arms that sat at the surface of the table. I could feel the tension that had now settled around as I observed that they weren't chatting and instead looking at me. I turned my head to the window and closed my eyes. "You don't have to stare at me you know.." I said making them look back up at each other and start a conversation. Although they tried to include me into the conversation a couple of times they eventually got the hint that I was too exhausted to do anything so they pretty much decided to leave me alone and give me quiet condolences until we got into the great hall.

After getting bombarded with questions from Professor McGonagall I walked into the great hall and took my usual seat next to pansy. Eventually Blaise taking the empty seat that was next to me. Draco decided to sit with us too and so he sat with Crabbe and Goyle across from us. By this time I had gotten my energy back and had decided to put the whole situation behind me.

"Potteh.. Potteh.. is it true you fainted?" Draco questioned as he poked at Harry. One of the people that sat near him pretended to faint making Malfoy smile even more. "I mean you actually fainted." Although he wasn't facing me I could tell he had a cocky expression on his face as he looked at my brother.

"Oh shove off Malfoy." Ron says pulling harry so he had turned back to his table. Harry just quickly shooting me a quick glance as he started a conversation with his best friends.

"Could you lay off my brother?"

"Why would I do that?" He said as he tucked his feet under the table and turning his attention back to our table.

"because hes my brother. Besides I fainted too. So making fun of him, means you're making fun off me too." I said furrowing my eyebrows at him.

"Hailey you know-" He starts but all I do is place my hand up. Which is me silently telling him to save it. Just as he was about to start talking anyway Dumbledore had brought our attention to the front of the hall.

"Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. Now I would like to say a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First I'm pleased to welcome professor RJ Lupin who's kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck professor !" He said as the man on the train from earlier had stood up and gave a small bow. The room erupted into applause, me included. I don't know what it was but I felt a connection to the man. Even though I was sure I had never met him before in my life.

"do you see the scars on his face?" Blaise questioned everyone. With me only nodding my head and a couple off yesses surrounding us.

"Now I would also be pleased to announce that the Care for Magic creatures spot will be taken by our very own, Rubeus Hagrid." He said as the hall went into cheers minus the Slytherin table. Once again I had applaud. Hagrid deserved this spot, and I'm sure he would be a good teacher. I don't care what looks that I had gotten from my table but I couldn't care less. I smiled as the food on the table shortly after Dumbledore had finished his speech.

I didn't really eat much. I mean of course I ate some just not as much as I normally would.

When dinner was over we all made our ways to our common rooms in almost a hurry. I left as soon as I could so I could escape any encounter I would possible have with one of the dementors that were currently surrounding the school grounds to ensure our safety.

-no ones pov-

Unlike Harry, Hailey wasn't having fun when she had gotten into the room. She couldn't help but constantly be stumped on the interaction, and the mysterious new DADA teacher that for some reason she felt a connection with. But most importantly why Harry still seemed to be pushing her away. Despite what went down on the train he didn't even try to ask her if she was okay.

Harry deep down did care. He just didn't know how everyone would feel about him associating himself with a Slytherin, despite whether or not she was his sister or not.. most of the Gryffindor's started to dislike harry whenever they witnessed him having a small interaction with his twin.

Eventually all the Slytherins had made it too the common room, placing them selves everywhere. She was so lost in thought she hadn't realized that her bestfriends were now sitting amongst her trying to make her feel better.
