A/N: So I've had a rough week, but It's finally Friday and I'm going to try and update again, I finally updated late last night, and usually I get my writing done early in the morning, but I woke up late this morning so I couldn't write a lot. I'm having a difficult time with my family too, so if my updating is spotty I'm really sorry, but thank you to every single beautiful human who is reading my writing, it means a lot to me and I love you guys, no matter who you were, who you are, and who you want to be:3
Midoriya's POV:
We were traveling overnight so we were told to go up to our hotel rooms after breakfast and pack up our things. Since we'd only spent one night here, all I really had to do was pack up my toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss, then fold up my PJ's and gather my luggage together. We made our beds and did a quick sweep of the hotel room, to make sure it was all clean and that we didn't forget anything, then left the room and gave Aizawa our room key. We would be out all day, then leave after dinner to the train, where our luggage would already be gathered from the rooms and loaded onto the vehicle and waiting for us, then we would drive for about an hour or two until we got to a hotel in Lake Toya, where we would spend the night and get our schedule the next day. I was so excited because there was a really popular morning market in Hakodate that I really wanted to go to, "hey Todoroki, it's a ten-minute bus ride to the morning market from here, we should go there," I told him, he nodded, and I looked down at my feet. I couldn't help but feel bad in some way, as if I did something wrong, even though I knew I didn't. I got a little angry at the way he was acting but calmed myself down after I reminded myself of how much he was probably going through, and that the best thing right now is to be there for him. I smiled up at him playfully nudged him in the arm, he moved a little but it didn't seem to amuse him, so I decided to just keep a cheery face and make sure he was having the best day ever!
We told Aizawa our plan and he let us go on ahead, so we boarded the bus and rode it all the way to the morning market. It was a big building, surrounded by floods of people, "Woah!" I said as we exited the bus, we were each wearing small backpacks filled with money, water, snacks, our phones with emergency contact numbers on them, and first aid kits. "I say, we stop at every stand, and if we see anything good we should get it, enough to share with our friends, but not too much to the point where we'd be wasting, and nothing that has to be refrigerated unless we're going to eat it here," I told him, he nodded and I grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him towards the door. We made our way through the crowd of people and opened the door to the building. "I heard this place is pretty expensive, especially the seafood, but it's a really popular tourist attraction," I told him, and he only nodded again. We were walking slowly, checking out each stand.
"Ooh look!" I told him pointing out a table which was selling ice cream, we'd been exploring the market for three hours already, and we're about ready to leave, we'd bought and eaten slices of melon, and had just finished sharing a small donburi breakfast. It was really nice here, some of it was outside, and some of it was inside, "you want ice cream?" he asked me. He hadn't talked a lot today, which is normal when we're in public, but he'll usually talk a lot more when we're hanging out alone. It was kind of sad, but I understood, especially with all he was going through, it must be hard for him having to come back to Hokkaido. "Yes, of course, I read that they had really delicious lavender ice cream here," I told him, he shot me a look, "lavender ice cream??" he asked confused,(by the way lavender ice cream is my favorite flavor and I recommend) "yeah, there are mixed reviews on it, some people say its delicious, but some people say it tastes like plants, but I've had it when I was younger with my mom and I think I remember liking it," I explained, he responded with a hum and we walked over to the stand, "one lavender ice cream in a cup please," I asked them, "that will be 500 yen please," Todoroki pulled out his wallet and handed them the money, and we waited for a second while they scooped the ice cream into a cup, "oh two spoons please," I asked, they grabbed two small plastic spoons and handed the dessert to Todoroki, we carried it outside and sat on a bench in front of the market.
"You try it first," I told him smiling, he nodded then took a small scoop of the ice cream and stuck it in his mouth. He made a nauseous face and shoved the cup towards me, "you can have it," he said after a while still making a face and reaching into his bag for his water bottle, I burst out laughing as soon as he handed the ice cream to me, "it's not funny Midoriya," he said after swallowing his water and sticking out his tongue in disgust, which only made me laugh even harder, "don't try kissing me after eating that," he said taking another drink of water, I took a bite and smiled, "I think it's really good," I said still giggling and going in for another bite, "well I'm so happy for you Midoriya, you can have that whole thing all to yourself," he said sarcastically, I smiled happily to see him finally loosen up again. It would have been a perfect moment to talk about everything and how I felt, but he was finally smiling and I didn't want to bring his mood down again. We talked for a bit while I ate the ice cream, and when I was done I walked over to a trash can near the bench we were sitting at and threw it away, then walked back over and sat next to him again.
Todoroki's POV:
My mind has been racing all day, I was upset from last night, but I got over it quickly, I couldn't dwell on that when I had other things to worry about, even though that's what I kept telling myself, I knew deep down that there was a reason my head kept circling back to that dream. It was pretty much the perfect time to do this, my hands were shaking and I was in total fear, I knew as soon as he got back from throwing his trash away, that he would notice that I wasn't doing okay. So I braced myself, my stomach knotting and my hands trembling, I stared down at my feet remembering what Momo told me, 'you know he would never act in that way' then I heard his footsteps and looked up at him as he sat down next to me.
"Todoroki! Are you okay?" Midoriya asked reaching out for my shaking hands, I pulled them away and he gave me a sad confused look, "Yeah, I'm fine, I just, can we talk about something important?" I asked him, he nodded, "of course Todoroki, I'm always here to talk to you," he said smiling and placing a hand on my shoulder, which I shook off, "what is it?" he asked, I looked up at his sweet beautiful eyes, they were like gems and they sparkled in the sunlight. "I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU!" I blurted out loudly, then quickly looked away while strangers shot us weird looks. His eyes went wide and he nearly fell off the bench. I got so caught up in his beautiful eyes that I just said it, god I'm so stupid, "w-what?" he asked again, I covered my face not wanting to even look at him, knowing he was probably filling with rage with each second that passed. "Todoroki! Did you just say you were in l-love with me??" he asked, I nodded timidly, with my face still buried in my hands. After a while of silence I looked up at him, his eyes were still wide and he looked like he'd just seen a ghost. "Can I explain something, before you say anything?" I asked him, he nodded, with that shocked expression still plastered on his adorable face. "That dream I had last night, it was awful, you were...awful." I told him the whole dream(I'm really just too lazy to explain the dream again, but also I feel like that would be the third time you guys would be reading about it and that would get annoying so yeah) "Todoroki," he said pulling me into a hug, "first of all, there's no way in hell I would ever get mad at you for the way that you felt, I'm not like that, also, I-I'm in love with you too, I've liked you for a while, but yeah, I love you too Todoroki," he said still hugging me, my eyes went wide and I pulled him closer to me. "You do?" I asked him, I pulled away from the hug and saw that his eyes were tearing up as he smiled at me, "hey don't cry," I said and wiped his tears with my thumbs, he laughed a little and sniffed, I couldn't help it, I leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his lips, he smiled against my lips but then kissed back. Since it was a public place we only kissed for a few seconds, he pulled away and looked deep into my eyes, "will you be my boyfriend Todoroki?" He asked me, I smiled softly, "I would love you," I responded then pecked his cheek. "Come on, how about we go do something else now?" he asked me, I nodded and stood up them followed him to the bus stop.
We spent the rest of the day in Hakodate, having fun and laughing with each other. Then it started getting dark and Aizawa texted our class group chat telling us where exactly to meet for dinner, we all ate as a class, laughing and talking about our days while Midoirya and I held hands under the table, then we got on the train and headed to Lake Toya. Midoriya took a nap on my shoulder on the way, and I'd eventually fallen asleep too. When we got to our hotel, we headed up to our room with Bakugo and Kirishima, got ready for bed, and fell asleep happy from the wonderful day.
