It was a quit, peaceful morning. Only the sound of chirping birds and feet stepping on grass and branches could be heard. Everything was just calm. It was at these moments in life that Itachi did not prefer death over living. It was at moments like this where he felt even the slightest bit of peace that he so badly longed for. That he could actually live with himself. The peace came to an end when the two ninjas spotted the chaotic village known as Konoha.

The former home of the rouge ninja sparked an inexpliainable feeling of longing inside of him. He felt a deep nostalgic emotion for the place he once lived in even though he has been there multiple times after the massacre. Despite himself, he wondered how everyone he knew was doing. Were his friends and Anbu comrades okay? Were they still performing their duties as loyal shinobi to the leaf? He wondered how his beloved little brother was doing. Did he hate him? Did he despise him? Was he training? How was his ninja career doing? How was his mental health doing? He missed walking down the streets of Konoha. He missed walking the Uchiha compound. He missed his house. He missed his room. He missed his green dinosaur plushie. Heck, he missed his family. He missed his parents. The loving hug of his mother and the gentle smile on her face as she stroked his hair. He missed the praises of his father as he aced his training. Even if his parents was strict most of his childhood, he still missed them. He loved them. He missed his cousin and best friend, Shisui. He missed Izumi. He just missed everything.

And so, he took the last turn as the big gates of the village came into view. "Woah, Itachi! Are you willing to go through the gate? You're rouge ninja, remember? " Naruto asked in confusion. "Just this time, Naruto. I'll use a clone." Itachi explained. "Okay."

Itachi quickly signed and turned into a henge. He had short brown hair, light brown eyes and the clothes of a regular leaf ninja.

They landed on the ground and passed the gates with sleeping guards and made their way through the busy streets. Once they arrived at Naruto's run down house, Itachi quickly made a seal.  "Here, put your clothes and stuff." Naruto sealed his clothes, ninja tools, personal items, and a picture of team 7.

"Shall we head to the base?" Naruto asked. "Yes, bet we'll do something first." Itachi answered.

"What is it?"

"We'll head to the Uchiha compound."

"Oh hell no! I'm not dealing with that stuck up stupid asshole called Sasuk-" Naruto quickly covered his mouth. " I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean it Itachi. "

Itachi looked upset, though he tried to hide it. "I'm pretty sure you did. You can wait at the gates if you want."

" N-no, I-I'll come with you. "

Itachi stayed silent as they exited the house and headed to the Uchiha compound. They entered from above the walls and made sure to mask their chakra so they won't be detected. Itachi lead Naruto through the abandoned houses and to his house.

"Do you hear those sounds?" Naruto asked.

"It's probably Sasuke training." Itachi said. "Come on, I'll take you to the training grounds."

They walked into the back yard of Itachi's house and true to his words, Sasuke was there training very hard. They hid behind the bushes and peaked at Sasuke. He seemed so concentrated that every thing else in the world disappeared. Naruto watched with jealousy as Sasuke hit every target with a kunai, not missing one. He looked at Itachi. Itachi seemed way older than he is. His face was full of longing and guilt. It was as if Itachi wanted to get up and hug Sasuke and take him away with him. But he knew he couldn't. At least he made sure his little brother was alright. With a heavy sigh and a heavier heart, Itachi got up and left and Naruto followed behind. He really shouldn't have gone to Konoha.
