I wept and wept, I didn't know what time it was as I heard steps thudding towards the room. I stood up instantly wiping off the tears from my face. It was Rhysand.
"High Lord." I bowed.
"How many times have I told you not to call me that, and we do not bow infront of our family, remember?" His hands in his pockets as always.
I nodded. Of course, how can I forget. The first time Az took me to meet his family, Rhys have said he lost his sister a long ago and he always longed for the gap to be filled, and he was more than happy to welcome me into the family.
"How are you here? Do you need something?"
"Uh, No, uh." I hesitated.
He just looked at me patiently waiting for me to complete my sentence.
"Actually, Az took the charge of training me today and..." My cheeks heated.
"Oh, I get it, the recent weeks of mateing." He said with a subdued smile.
I nodded, and turned to head out of the room.
"Wait." He said from behind.
"Yes?"
"Did something, happened?"
Shit, how did he know? Did he see me cry?
"No, I didn't see you cry." He said.
"Did you read my mind?" I frowned.
"No, I just doubted it, after seeing your red nose, and just now you confirmed my suspicion."
I just gaped.
"So? Are you going to tell me, who the hell made my little sister cry, or shall I read it through your mind?"
I just stared at him.
"Make it quick, I do have responsibilities remember?
And my first one is to take that little prick on his knees to beg his pardon to you."
"No it's not what you think." I said at last.
"So what is it, you know you can tell me anything right?"
"It's about Azriel"
"Az?" He huffed a laugh. "He is such a gentle prick, what did he do to make you cry your eyes off?"
"He won't let me touch his hand, and when I tried he snatched it away and snarled at me, saying never touch them again."
"Oh.." his face drained of all the glee. "He's just... You know what he have been through, his hands are the reminder of his past."
"I do know what he have been through, I know what those scars trigger out of him, but... I just want to be their for him, help him heal out of it. I just don't know how to. I love him, Rhys, I love him so much and that pain in his eyes whenever he notices those scars, just... Ugh, just makes me want to shred the world into pieces."
"I understand, you know, he loves you so much, I have never seen him this way before, as much happy before, as much he is after you walked into his life. And those scars, they scare him, that you are gonna pity him more than you love him."
"I don't pity him Rhys, I just... Hate those people who did this to him. And I don't know how to tell him, what to say to make him understand that."
"You see, falling in love is easy, maintaining the relationship is difficult, but explaining your feelings is next to impossible...Just give him time, he will heal, and with your help, I doubt the pain would last any longer." He grinned.
"Thank You." I smiled, even if it didn't reach my eyes.
"Anytime." He said, embracing me, and then I walked out of the room.I didn't know where Az went, and where to find him. But Mor caught me before I went further.
"I was searching for you since half an hour. Where were you?" She asked. Before I could say anything she continued. "Oh, what a stupid question." She smirked, amusement danced in her eyes. "Let it be, we are late for our show."
I didn't even notice, it was already quarter to 12.
"Just give me 5 minutes, I'll get ready." I was just about to go, when Mor clicked her fingers and my body cleaned itself and my cloths were changed into a flowy, beautiful, crimson silk gown.
Sometimes I really forget, how easy things are for a Fae.
"Hurry." She pulled me holding my elbow and directly winnowed us to the theatre.
