I Thought I'd Never See You Again

"So how was your week at daddies, Izzy?" Sadie asked her ten year old daughter as Colby, Izzy, and Sadie all sat down around a circular table at the ice cream parlour they had agreed to meet up at.

"It was good mommy!" Izzy smiled taking a bite of her cookie dough ice cream "But dad made me leave Alison's early last week."

Colby gave her a look saying without words 'why'd you have to bring that up'.

"Oh really why?" Sadie looked questionably at Colby "I thought you wanted to meet Sam?"

"I did" Colby grumbled "Until I realized it was Sam Golbach."

Sadie raised her eyebrows "You know him?"

"I knew him" Colby paused leaning against the back of his seat, "We went to school together back in Kansas."

"oh" Sadie said.

"ya" Colby replied

"That's it?" questioned Sadie "You just went to school together. I mean you two seem like you would get along. Isabelle and Alison are just like the two of you and their best friends."

"Ya, well I guess some things are just not meant to be." Colby stated.

Sadie took one look at Colby and came to a sudden realization, "You were friends weren't you?"

"Yeah 'were' maybe a million years ago." Colby sighed rubbing is forehead.

"What happened?" Asked a curious Sadie and Izzy looked up at her dad in anticipation too.

"everything" Colby laughed mostly to himself.

Sadie quietly acknowledge Colby to continue while she continued enjoying her ice cream.

Colby released a big sigh, "Well you see Sam and I met at Band camp and immediately hit it off. Why? because... We had a thing for the same girl. Then throughout freshmen year we became the best of friends. A lot like the girls"

Colby looked at Izzy and Izzy laughed at that.

Colby then continued "We did everything together. Then we started doing vine."

That caused Sadie to laugh remembering the ancient days of vine. but the laughs grew more when Izzy popped in asking "What's vine?"

Sadie and Colby just brushed it off saying the'd explain later.

"Then we started a YouTube channel 'Sam and Colby' I think you might still be able to find it if you look hard enough."

"I think Colby and Sam would sound better" Izzy stated licking up her ice cream.

Colby laughed "Yeah maybe, It was Sam and Colby vs The World... Until...I told him"

"Told him what?" Sadie asked curious as to what would change things so drastically.

"I told him I was Bisexual. Then he just cut me out. He would ignore me. He would slam doors in my face. Then he would yell at me. So I left."

"Wait you told him you were... Colby don't you know that Sam's-" But Sadie was cut off by a squeal coming from the door of the ice cream parlour.

"IZZY!" Alison yelled running to give her best friend a hug.

"ALI!" Isabelle screamed back causing all the patrons in the building to watch to see the commotion unfolding.

Sam came running in behind Alison out of breath followed by another man Colby didn't recognize. "Sorry Sadie, she saw Izzy and was gone!" Sam laughed "I had absolutely no control over the situation."

Sam and Colby made eye contact and immediately started glaring at each other while Sadie started talking. "Why don't you two join us?"

"actually" The man behind Sam spoke "There's three of us" He rapped his arm around Sam and Ali. Colby took notice to how Alison quickly shrugged his arm off of her and sat down next to Izzy.

"Oh, You must be Jax?" Sadie smiled and the man slightly nodded "Sam has told me so much about you."

"You must be Sadie, and this little one..." Jax said looking at Izzy who was listening to what Ali was whispering in her ear. "You must be Isabelle." The girl slightly nodded not liking the man from what Ali had just told her. Jax then turned to look at Colby raising an eyebrow. "Are you Sadie's husband?"

"God no!" Colby laughed earning a smack across the head form Sadie.

"Were just friends" Sadie smirked to herself feeling accomplished for smacking Colby "Although he is Izzy's father."

"oh, you two still get along." Jax questioned

"Course" Colby smiled putting his arm around Sadie and pulling her closer. "She's my best friend... apart from Alex of course."

"Of course that idiot holds the number one spot" Sadie laughed.

Sam wanting to get away from the conversation quickly piped in "I'm going to get us some ice cream babe" before kissing Jax on the cheek and walking over to the counter.

The second Sam kissed Jax, Colby had a mix of emotions mostly shock, lots of hatred for both men, and maybe just a bit, not that he would ever admit, a hint of jelously? No, no, no, why would Colby care?

"It's good to meet you Jax." Sadie smiled at the man he simple nodded once more before turning to sit next to Colby and looking him up and down.

Sadie then started talking to the girls leaving Colby with Jax for company. Colby looked at Jax not liking him one bit. Jax then leaned in to whisper in Colby's ear "ain't you a pretty little thing"

Colby just pushed the man away saying "your not my type"

"I can show you how much more fun guys are than girls" Jax said placing his hand a little too high on Colby thigh.

Colby pushed Jax's hand away  before glaring at him "who says I like girls?"

"You have a kid" Jax gestured to the giggling Brunette sitting at the table with them.

"So?"Colby couldn't say anything else because Sam showed up with three ice creams placing them in-front of Jax himself and Alison.

Jax quickly moved away from Colby before Sam could notice how close they were and pulled Sam in for a passionate kiss which Sam grateful excepted. It wasn't until they broke apart that Sam realized what he just did. Colby was going to be more pissed at him than before.

Sam looked up at Colby whose mouth was agape in pure shock but his expression quickly turned to anger. Colby stood up abruptly knocking his chair down in the process. This caused a loud band putting all eyes on Colby and a nervous for his life Sam.

"YOU FU-" Colby stopped realizing Alison and Isabelle were there "YOU FUGLY DUCKLING LITTLE MOTHER  TRUCKING APRON HANGER"

"Wait Colby I can explain" Sam said standing up with a pleading look in his eyes.

"NO, I DON'T WANNA HEAR ANOTHER DUCKIN WORD OUT OF YOUR FUGLY FAUCET"

"I'm Sorry"

"NO YOU DON'T GET TO SAY SORRY, YOU DON'T GET TO SAY ANYTHING" and with that Colby stormed out jumped in his car and drove away. Leaving Sadie and Jax completely confused and Sam in absolute tears.
