Murmurs from the people, clicking and flashing of cameras and the sound of the sirens of the police cars and ambulance could be heard to where Seoho and Y/n were standing. They already lose their track of time because of the sudden incident that their own eyes had witnessed.

They can't believe it just happened.

Dongju was one of their classmates. He's silent and always prefers to be alone so people barely communicate with him but somehow, Y/n still cared for him. She knew how kind and sweet he was because she saw it when she was paired with him on one of their previous school activities.

She wanted to be friends with him but she's too shy to ask him that time. She was thinking that he'd reject her though she never even tried befriending him.

Y/n was cut out of her thoughts when Seoho held her left arm. "Should we go now? We're probably late for our classes." he told her with a small voice compared to his usual cheerful one.

She sighed and looked back at Dongju's body that was transferred on a stretcher and was being carried by a medical team to the ambulance. She turned back her attention to her best friend when the ambulance's door closed.

She wanted to attend and finish her classes but for now, she just wanted to know why— what's the sudden cause of Dongju's suicide? Or was it really suicide? At the first sight, anyone could tell it was but if you'd look at the bigger picture and find out, there are some possibilities that it's not.

"Y/n?" Seoho looked at her worriedly, finding it odd that she suddenly became too silent.

Glancing up at him, she gave him a small smile. "Hmm. Let's go now." she said before she started walking. Seoho stared at her moving figure for a moment, wondering what she could've been thinking. Shrugging it off, he followed her behind.

Just like what was expected, the rumor (which was actually true) of Dongju's death was the main topic buzzing around inside the RBW high. The student who kept his profile low became popular just because if his sudden death. Well look at how this world really works; people would only know your name, realize that you actually existed once you'd be gone.

The teacher was explaining some stuffs infront but Y/n was too bothered by the thoughts of Dongju and she doesn't know why. Why was she even thinking of him in the first place? Were they friends? No. Do they have some special relationship? No. Then why? Fuck it.

She rested her chin on her right hand's palm and looked at the view outside the window near her. A few waterdrops started to fall from the sky but then soon changed into a heavy rain. She stared into an empty space before she face palmed, realising that she forgot her umbrella at home.

"Are you sure?" Seoho asked her for the nth time, carrying his bag on his shoulder.

"Yes, Seoho. I'm going to be just fine. It's not like I'm still 5." she said, rolling her eyes at the end of her sentence.

Seoho got a text earlier from her mom, asking him to help her with the groceries but he keeps on worrying about Y/n going home on her own.

She zipped her bag close after she stuffed her things inside of it and looked at her best friend. He sighed and bit his lower lip. "Fine. But text me once you got home, alright?"

"Yes, dad. Stop worrying too much, okay? I'll be just fine. Go help your mom, she might be waiting for you." she patted his shoulder before pushing him to the direction of the door of the classroom.

"Okay. Bye, Take care." he turned back around to give her an embrace before he ran outside.

Y/n sighed and carried her bag, disappearing to where her best friend had gone. She went to the locker room to get her notes that she needed to study for tomorrow's upcoming activity.

Some students were also there, picking up their things, retouching their make ups and talking with their friends. The conversations that the people were having were still clear for her to hear but she could only care less about it. I mean, what does it even have to do with her? It's better if she'd just mind her own business.

"What do you guys think about Dongju's suicide? What could be his reason for doing it?" Y/n stopped midway on opening her locker.

"I don't know and I don't care. That's not our problem to interfere with."  Y/n doesn't really know why, but she felt her heart clench at those words that some random student spat out.

"Hmm. You're right. I bet that depressed potato just wanted attention. Tsk, as if people would get interested with him."  Y/n let out a harsh breath, opening her locker and taking her things so she'd be distracted enough to not hear their conversation anymore.

She pulled her books out of the locker and a piece of paper fell out. At her curiosity, she knelt down to pick it up and when she stood back up, all the people inside the locker room suddenly disappeared.

Her eyes widened in surprise and looked around the room once more, only to find out that she's really the only one left there. Was she just dreaming? "What's happening?" she asked herself, tapping her cheeks, trying to wake herself up as if she's sleeping but she can feel her own touch.

"How did this happen?..." then she remembers the paper that she picked up. Looking down and her hand that was holding the paper that looks old and the edges were half burned, there's a single word written on it with blood.

"Xion...." she reads.
