A/N Shut up I know it's not DR, but I liked the sonnnnngggg
Hajime sat outside the doctor's office, tapping his foot out of impatience. It had been almost an hour . . . wouldn't they be done by now? He stared at the floor, which was a sparkling white. Hospitals have to keep clean, I guess, the brunette thought.
Five minutes passed, then ten, then fifteen, each minute seeming like an hour. Hajime's anxiety was starting to show, as he could feel cold drops of sweat trickling down his face.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he sensed someone sits down on the bench next to him and placed their fluffy white hair on his shoulder.
"Nagito!" Hajime squeaked, wrapping his arms around the albino and pulling him closer. "What did the doctor say?"
Nagito laughed, his eyes filling up with despair. "It's just as I predicted. I would be lucky if I lasted another week . . . oh I think my luck's finally run out, Hajime!" The boy laughed uncontrollably, and Hajime started to panic. This side of him always crept Hajime out.
"H-hey now . . . maybe not in public?"
"Who the FUCK cares?" Nagito shouted over his partner
Goddamnit.
Hajime let his head fall on top of Nagito's. He could feel his eyes tearing up, even though he didn't want them to. "Hinata-kun, if we need to leave, we can."
The brunette sat up and scootched away from his partner. "No no no, I want to do what you want to do! Right now, you matter more than . . . than anything else."
His partner nodded and hummed in response, then grabbed Hajime's hand and pulled him up off the bench. "Well . . . why don't we go . . . to a café or something? L-Like a date . . . ? Maybe?"
"Huh? Don't you want to do something more exciting? Visit the world? Go do something fun?"
The boy smiled. "Who said hanging out with the Hajime Hinata wasn't fun?"
Hajime could feel his cheeks start to burn. Of course, Nagito would want to do something like this . . . he cared too much about other people, not worrying about himself. Despite that fact, Hajime did still appreciate the compliment and the fact that Nagito thinks spending time with him is more important than anything else right now.
"Alright, Nagito. If that's what you want to do." The two lovers drove off from the hospital to a nearby coffee shop, where they both ordered their favorite drinks.
"Can we get some kusamochi?" The brunette asked the cashier, who nodded and hurried away towards the back. She brought back a plate of the green sweets, and Hajime took them eagerly.
They found a table by the window, where they could both watch pedestrians walk past. People watching; something they both enjoyed doing.
"Hey, Hinata-kun?" Nagito asked, turning to face his partner.
Hajime placed his elbow on the table, using his hand to hold up his face. "Hmm? Oh, it's just Hajime."
"Hajime . . . I'm terribly sorry about all this."
"Why are you apologizing? None of this is your fault, Nagito."
The boy shook his head and looked up at the ceiling. "No, don't you see? I've caused you despair . . . after all that was done to stop it. I can't help but worry that you won't ever find hope after . . . after I'm gone."
Hajime stopped resting his hand and grabbed his lover's. "I would be lying if I said that I wasn't worried. But we should stop fretting about this, and focus on what's happening right now." Hajime was half telling this to himself.
The albino didn't seem to be content with that answer, so Hajime leaned over and kissed his forehead. He sat back down, pleased when he noticed the boy smile a little bit.
The two finished their drinks and made their way outside.
"Huh," Nagito remarked, "it's starting to rain."
Hajime looked up at the sky and realized that his partner was right. The clouds had turned a dark shade of grey, and little droplets of water started to fall on them. It wasn't long before it started pouring, and the two boys watched as people started to pull out umbrellas and hoods, scurrying to get inside somewhere dry. The lovers didn't make any effort to get dry, they just stood there, listening to the pitter-patter of the rain as it hit the cement of the parking lot in front of them.
The brunette felt someone grab his hand, and he turned to look at Nagito, who was smiling, mesmerized, astonished by something as simple as rain. His hair was soaked and it stuck to the sides of his face and neck, droplets of water sliding off of it.
Hajime smiled, and leaned on the boy's shoulder, not caring that it was all damp and he was getting water in his ear.
"Oh Hajime," the albino mumbled, "isn't this so pretty?"
Hajime giggled, remembering how his partner loved all things pretty and scootched even closer to his lover.
"Look at how it glistens on the grass . . . it smells so good too."
For a few blissful moments, Hajime forgot about everything. All memories of what had happened in the past, all worrisome thoughts of his lover, they seemed to be wiped off his brain. All that mattered right now was his boyfriend. All that mattered right now was the scene. It was like out of some sort of fantasy book, one that you would read and get immersed in the story.
"Huh?" Nagito shuddered, snapping out of whatever trance he was in, and noticed Hajime leaning on his shoulder, both of them soaking wet. "Hajime, your shirt is so wet, it's almost see-through!"
The brunette glanced down and realized that his lover was right. You could see his chest peaking in through the shirt, which was white so therefore it got drenched in the rain. He grumbled and shifted a little bit. "I don't really care. Come on, wasn't this so nice?"
"We must get you dry, Hinata-kun!"
"I have an umbrella in my pack, will that make you happy?" Hajime stepped back and slid his backpack that he had off and took out the umbrella that was in it. It was a simple, clear umbrella, and he opened it, which emitted a satisfying pop.
"But that would not make you-"
"Come 'ere," Hajime said as he pulled Nagito over out of the rain and under the umbrella. He held his partner's hand with one arm, using the other to hold their umbrella up. The two made their way to the road.
They walked along the side of the road, hand in hand. Hajime sighed, content with the sound of the rain splatting on everything that surrounded them. The two boys made their way in front of an alleyway, and Hajime could see the albino smirk.
Suddenly the boy was whisked away by his partner into the alleyway, shielded away from the public by the close buildings.
Nagito wrapped his arm around Hajime's back and grabbed the hand that was being used to hold the umbrella to pull him into his face and made out with him. Now it really was like some sort of fantasy, two lovers making out in the rain, shielded from society by a simple umbrella and buildings. Hajime gave in to his lover's touch and sunk into his hold, letting his partner keep him from falling.
The two broke away, both of them breathing heavily. Hajime reached out and stroked the albino's cheek, wiping away the droplets of rain.
"You know, Hina- Hajime, I really think we should go get dry."
"Oh sure, Nagito. We totally should," Hajime responded, a smirk playing on the edges of his lips.
"It would be so immature to keep making out in the rain, wouldn't it? We just wouldn't be thinking straight," Nagito laughed at his own joke.
"No, not straight at all."
The two boys leaned back in again.
A/N: Mmmm I LOVE rain scenes. Hence why I wrote this, duh.
