THOR AND I were successful in beating Hulk. Lord knows I didn't think I could do it, and Thor's sudden boost in power- all that lightning coming FROM him....that helped. I was very proud of us.
Though we were victorious, we looked like a mess. Bloodied and beaten and utterly exhausted, we leaned on each other as we walked out.
Nurses flooded to our sides as we exited the arena, giving us both water and first aid. The pushed us into the medics ward, where Thor and I sat in chairs beside one another as nurses tended to our cuts.
"Thor," I mumbled, my voice more gravelly than I expected.
"Yes, Lady Shark?" He stifled a laugh.
I shook my head, wincing a bit as some cleaning alcohol was patted onto the cut on my face. "Dont start that with me, lord of thunder-"
We both chuckled, and for a moment it felt like we were back at Stark Tower, cleaning up after a successful mission. My stomach dropped as I thought about Tony, Steve, Natasha- everyone back home. Time worked differently on Sakaar....I wonder how long I've been gone. Weeks? Days? Perhaps...years? I clenched my jaw at the thought but quickly shook out of the dark mood that was setting in. I had to focus. This was no time to mourn; Thor and I finally had a real chance of getting out. I'll worry about time on Earth when I get there- first step is to actually MAKE IT there.
"Anyways, Thor-" I continued, "you know what I'm going to ask."
He sent me a small smile then looked at his own hands like he couldn't believe the power he held. "I know, but I don't have answer. I don't know where the...that lightning came from either."
I bit my lip. He didn't seem like he believed his own words, making me unsure of him too. "You sure you don't know? You are the god of thunder, Thor." I made a beeping sound, like a video game and spoke like a robot; "Thor: New Powerup Unlocked."
He looked at me quizzically and I shook my head, "It's a- its like a game reference," I explained with casual excitement. "When we're back on earth I'll introduce you to video games."
He put his hand on mine. "Your optimism is contagious. Victory today-"
"Victory tomorrow," I finished. "Think the Grandmaster will actually let us go?"
Thor huffed, clicking his tongue. "Nope."
The nurses tending to us both stifled a giggle. I glanced at Thor warily. "I'm sure we'll be making our exit off this planet soon," I said carefully hoping he understood what I meant. He nodded stifly, telling me he got the message: grandmaster's blessing or not, we would be getting out of here soon.
"Think my brother will come with us?" He questioned quietly, almost to himself. I sighed, my heart hurting when I thought of Loki. As much as I hated to admit it, I had strong feelings towards the god of mischief. I wanted nothing more to shake off this ridiculous crush and move on, but I couldn't. Loki could be tricking me, playing with my heart for some bigger purpose - yet he did seem to genuinely care for me.
I sighed, thinking of what I would say to Loki when I saw him next. I couldnt go on like this- this back and forth of liking him, being confident he liked me too, then feeling betrayed...all that to say, I still felt myself falling for him. I wanted him to come with us. I didn't want to leave Loki on Sakaar. But what would Tony say? Steve would be so disappointed. But Thor and I both have seen a change in Loki...ugh, my love life is so complicated.
Finally to answer Thor, I replied, "maybe. I'll speak to him tonight. See where he stands."
"You should talk to him about more than just leaving Sakaar, Y/N," Thor said, his tone more serious than I expected. "You both need to admit to whatever is going on between you."
