I WOKE UP before Loki, sunlight streaming in through the large windows. Silk sheets wrapped around us. Loki was on his stomach, shirtless, his arm wrapped around my waist. I was on my side, curled into him. I had on a loose top- one of Loki's undershirts, my dress on the floor.
Slowly, and carefully so not to wake Loki I slipped out from under his arm and sat up, stretching. I glanced back at his sleeping form and smiled. Seeing Loki so peaceful and quiet was, quite frankly, adorable. He seemed so sweet, no mischievous smirk or glint in his eyes. Of course, I suppose I like that about him. He was exciting, and surprisingly gentle and kind. I guess his devilish demeanor was a front, a way for him to seem...tough, maybe.
I made my way to the small pitcher near the window and turned on the kettle. It was the closet thing Sakaar had to coffee - the liquid was purple, like grape juice, but tasted like coffee with a bit more of a cinnamon kick. As the liquid heated, I leaned against the counter and looked out at the futuristic city. It made me miss the New York skyline I was so used to.
I sighed, thinking about home, wondering how Tony was doing. Casting a quick glance at Loki I let out a nervous chuckle to myself. Tony would not approve of Loki and I whatsoever.
Steve wouldn't either- but would maybe come around to the idea if I compared it to Bucky. Steve was loyal to his best friend even though Bucky had been used as a weapon for so long. Maybe Steve could understand Loki's change too.
Natasha might understand too, seeing how she's always spoken of wiping away the "red in her ledger"...Loki's got a lot of red in his ledger as well. She might see how I see the situation. Of course, it takes her a good while to trust anyone.
Clint would be the most hard headed of them all - after New York and Loki's mind control, I wouldn't blame him. Maybe someday he'd see what I see.
All in all, the avengers would hopefully accept this once we got back to Earth, especially if Thor could help convince them Loki really did care for me.
I poured my Sakaar coffee into a small cup - it's caffeine effects are much stronger than Earth coffee - and had a sad thought cross my mind.
After everything was settled - even after defeating Hela and saving Asgard...would Loki come to Earth with me? If he did, there's no way Tony would let him stay with us. Or would he? No, not at first...
Would Loki even stay on Earth at all? Director Fury wouldn't let that happen if he found out. Gods, there were just too many people against him.
But surely I wouldn't go to Asgard with him. I couldnt leave Tony, and the rest of the Avengers. I cared about them too much to move to a whole other...planet.
Thinking about the future freaked me out, so as I gingerly sipped my coffee I tried to think of other things.
I didn't have much of a moment of peace because of a light knock at the door. Curious on who could be here so early for Loki- and worried he would awaken at the knocking - I quickly tiptoed to the door and opened it, peeking my head out.
It was Jezabel, my favorite handmaiden.
"Good morning," I said quietly. "Are you okay?"
She sent me a cheeky look. "I checked your room and couldn't find you...oh girl, I knew you'd be in here." She winked suggestively and I clicked my tongue. Jezabel rolled her eyes playfully and continued, "Anyways, Thor sent for you. He wants to talk. I figured it was important, and-" she lightly pushed on the door, a pile of clothes in her hands, "-I knew if you had spent the night in here you probably didn't have a fresh outfit. So I came prepared."
