It's been about a Month and I've had a lot of bump ins with Draco but he hasn't done anything yet. It's been a nice break from his jokes but I kind of wondered if he didn't care anymore. I won't lie I kind of liked when he was doing it simply because I knew he cared about getting my attention. We were all leaving the great hall when he walks right next to me and he bumps into me. "Sorry" "Sorry" we say at the same time and look at each other. We awkwardly look away and start walking away from each other. I stop and decide to walk after him. I follow him to his dorms. "Draco wait" I say. He looks confused as to why I wanted to talk to him. "Why haven't you been doing your stunts" I walk towards him. " I don't really find the fun in them anymore" he shrugs his shoulders. "Why am I not worth the trouble of using a spell on" I laugh "No your not" he laughs a little "Can we try at that friendship thing again" I ask shyly. "I don't know Lily....." He looks unsure. "Come on" I shove his shoulder. He laughs a little and shakes his head. "Ok we can" I smile at him. Our friendship began to grow from that day. We talked often in the corridors and in our classes. I didn't talk to him a lot when the others were around simply because I didn't want Harry to think I betrayed him by being friends with his enemy. Draco was my friend first. He knew we couldn't be seen together so we kept it more low key for a while. "Hello everybody so as you all know for the 5th years at Hogwarts we have the annual Yule Ball" Ms Mcgonagall claps as everyone else in the room claps. "We also have the Tri wizard tournament cup here we will be picking our wizards to be in the tournament" she walks over to the cup and starts to pull out the first names. "Next we have Cedric Diggory..... and Harry Potter" she stops before saying Harry's name and when I look at him I can tell he didn't put his name in the cup. "Harry what are you gonna do" I whisper across the table to him. "Well that was uh I'm excited to see the tournament and make sure you have your dates ready for the Yule ball this Friday everyone back to your dorms"
Everyone muttering through the stairwells. Harry this and Harry that. I was confused as to who could've done it because he surely wasn't old enough to enter the tournament. I quickly walked to the Gryffindor Dorms and looked for Harry. I see them sitting in the common room clearly confused. "Do you know who could've done it" I say sitting next to Hermione. "No idea we think someone had to of put it in when no one was around the cup" he looks right at me. "Someone that wants to see me fail at the tournament" I look away. I know Draco wouldn't do anything of the sort but the thought wouldn't leave my mind. When everyone went to their dorms I slipped out silently without waking anyone. I sent a letter to Draco hoping he would meet me in the corridor. I stand there with my back towards the wall when I see someone walking towards me. I slide behind the corner of the wall and wait until I see him. "Draco" I whisper yell to him so he doesn't pass me. "Damn Lily don't do that" he says startled. I grab his arm and pull him to where we can't be seen if any of the professors were to walk to the great hall. "Did you put his name in the cup" I ask him seriously. "No why would I do that" he says in a mocking tone. "Come on tell me if you did" I look at him. "No I didn't but whoever did was clever enough to not let anyone see them" we both agree. We end up sitting in our usual spot for a while and then we go back to our dorms. I laid there thinking who would hate Harry enough to do it. Well there's a lot of people. I chuckle to myself. Slowly I drifted off to sleep.
