"So, do we have any idea what this thing does?" I ask Yaoyorozu as she pokes the orb with a small metal rod. It's been 2 weeks since we found the orb, and Yaoyorozu, Nezu, and Tetsutetsu have been working more or less non-stop trying to figure this thing out.
"Well, we just tested it. It does...... something very odd, to say the least. Tetsutetsu! Fire it up!" Yaoyorozusays, and the silver haired boy nods, then flicks a switch, and I hear the familiar hum of electricity.
"Okay, so what happens?" I ask, as Yaomomo pulls on a pair of rubber gloves
"Well, this thing conducts a lot of electricity. You might wanna put these on. Anyway, when it gets above about 1.5 million volts..... this happens." Yaoyorozu says, handing me a pair of welding goggles. I put them one as the orb begins to glow. Yaoyorozu lightly pushes the metal rod against the orb, and I watch at it dissappers into the orb, seemingly melting
"Okay, so it melts the metal. So what?" I ask
"Bupbupbup. Watch." She says, pulling the rob back. It's the same length as before, and there's no visible damage.
"So........ it sinks into the orb?" I ask, and she shakes her head again
"No. It just seems to vanish. It's not inside the orb, we tested it X-rays. It just seems to vanish off the face of the Earth, but it's clearly still there." She says, and I think about it
"So, where is going?" I ask, and she sighs
"Still trying to figure that out. It's either being deconstructed, then reconstructed on an atomic level, or it's being taken to another dimension. I'll let you know if anything changes." She says as the electricity stops and glow fades.
"Okay. Try not to blow anything up, and we'll be good. We don't need you turning into Hatsume." I say, and Yaoyorozu laughs
"No promises." She says, and I nod, walking off.
"Midori-bro!" Kirishima shouts, jogging up to me, followed by a happy Saisho, along with a concerned Ryukyu, and a constantly happy Nejire
"Oh, hey guys. What's up?" I ask, as Saisho clambers up me, resting around my shoulders, his odd chirping and purring noises making me relax, just a tiny bit.
"Not much, really. We were coming to check out Yaomomo's progress." Kirishima shrugs
"Well, I was just in there. Apparently, anything the stick in there is either being disassembled on the atomic level, or being moved to another dimension." I say, shrugging.
"Those...... are oddly specific." Ryuko says, and I shrug
"Like I said, guesses. Or maybe hypotheses." I reply,
"Well, I came here to say Hi to Saisho! He won't climb up on me like he does you! Why?" Nejire whines, lightly petting the small mammal.
"It took him six weeks to comfy enough to do this. And even now, he still tries to bite my ear from time to time." I say, as Saisho purrs yet again.
"Or maybe he just doesn't like you." Kirishima says, jokingly. Nejire, however, seems offended
"How can anyone or anything not like me! Do you like me?" Nejire demands and Kirishima smiles
"Yes, I like you, Nejire. I'm just saying, Saisho may not. He is a wild animal, after all." Kirishima says, placatingly.
"But he likes Ryukyu!" Nejire says, gesturing to the pro.
"That, I can't explain." I reply, looking at Ryukyu, who's currently looking over my head to Yaoyorozu.
"Anyway, how you doing, man? Now that you a semblance of a break from work?" Kirishima asks, and I shrug
