Shark Week

TW: Period

(This is what has happened during my period. This isn't what happens with all girls but I know people who do feel this bad when it happens.)

Nini is 16 and Ricky is 17. By the way, this isn't her first period, it's just her first really bad one. She doesn't know it's her period until later in the story.

Nini POV

I woke up this morning feeling really bad. I could barely move without being in pain, my stomach was hurting, i had a terrible headache, and I was hot and cold at the same time. I was sweating but i felt so cold. 

I don't think I can go to school today. I got out of bed but as soon as I did my head was in the toilet. Yep, definitely not going to school today. After I brushed my teeth I wrapped my blanket around me and walked downstairs to tell my moms I'm not going to school.

"Hey Nini, why aren't you ready for school?"

"I don't feel very good, I just threw up and I'm sweating but freezing, I have a big headache and my stomach hurts."

"Okay, you aren't going to school today. But your mom already left for work and I have a big meeting today."

"It's fine mom, I can be home and take care of myself for one day. All you need to do is call the school. Okay?"

"Are you sure you're only sixte-"

"Mom, I'll be fine. I promise."

"Okay, call me if you need anything."

"I will. I love you."

"Love you too honey." She came and kissed me on the cheek. "I'll see you around 6 o'clock tonight."

"Yep, bye." She walked out the door. When she left I went to go lay down on the couch. I ended up having to go to the bathroom as soon as I sat down. When I went to the bathroom, I realized I was bleeding. I got nervous but then remembered my period was supposed to start this week. I quickly got cleaned up. 

We only had a few tampons left so I made a reminder to text my mom to pick some up on her way back from work. I washed my hands and went back to the couch.

About 5-10 minutes later there's a knock on my door. I go to open it and see that it's Ricky. I forgot to tell him not to pick me up cause I'm sick.

"Hey Nini, ready to go?" He goes to kiss me but I back up. "What's wrong?"

"I can't go to school today."

"Why not?"

"I'm not feeling very well. That's also why I didn't want to kiss you."

"Wait, you're not feeling good? Then why are you up? Go lay down, I'll take care of you."

"Ricky, it's just my period. Yes, this time is worse than normal, but I can handle it."

"I can stay, really. It's not like I have much to do anyways."

"Ricky, you have to go to school."

"Nini, I can miss one day. You are way too important to me."

"Ricky, I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, now go." He agreed and kissed me on my cheek before heading to school. I sat on the couch again before I turned on Henry Danger. Yeah, I know it's more of a kid's show but come on, have you seen Jace Norman? I know I have a boyfriend but a girl can have a celebrity crush and a boyfriend at the same time right?

Anyways, while I was watching I got really hungry so I got up and made some soup. I sat on the couch while I ate then fell asleep.
