22: picnic

" I'm sorry for yesterday, Aera."

"It's okay, Yebin. You've been through a difficult time these days. I understand you." Aera smiled at her and continue doing her work.

"About Jake. I'm sorry on his behalf. I shouldn't ask him that kind of question. I didn't expect he would reply in that way."

Aera just shook her head and smiled, "It's okay."

Aera and Yebin shut their mouth when Jake arrived at the school. Jake looked at Aera but broke it off when Aera continue doing her work, pretending like she didn't see him.

"Good morning." Yebin greeted him happily and turned her chair to face him but Jake ignored her by wearing his ear pods and listened to music. Yebin laughed, leaned her body closer to him, and grabbed one of the ear pods before plucking it on her ear.

Aera saw that scene but she just ignored them.

" You have a great taste." Yebin praised him and laughed.

"Give it to me."

Yebin stick her tongue at him and hummed into the music while ignoring Jake. Aera took a glance at them and sighed as she felt like she was the blocker there. So, she decided to go somewhere else. She arranged her things and stood up from her seat,

" Where do you want to go?" Yebin asked Aera curiously.

" Library."

"Do you want me to accompany you?"

Aera took a glance at Jake and shook her head, "Enjoy your time with him. I don't want to be a blocker."

" Where do you want to go?" Sunghoon approached her and asked her curiously.
" Why? Do you want to join me?"

"Yes."

"I want to go too!" Jay joined and collected his things. Sunghoon smiled and wrapped his arm around Aera, " Let's go!"

"Join them," Jake spoke up.

Yebin shook her head,
" I want to spend my time with you."

Jake sighed as he annoyed of her again and turned up the volume causing her screamed in surprise and quickly gave it to Jake before rubbing her ear.

" I will become deaf because of you!" Yebin said to him.

" I don't remember asking," Jake replied and left the classroom for no reason.

It's finally lunchtime. Yebin needs to go to the music room since the teacher called for her while Jay and Sunghoon were in changed to buy the food. Aera allowed herself to help them but they refused and decided to buy the foods for her. So, she needs to stay in the classroom alone.

She looked around the place and felt bored because she didn't have anyone to talk to.
She played with her pen, drew animals and her friends. Aera laughed for no reason when she drew Sunghoon weirdly. She made his face bigger and his stomach was bloated, like a monster. She looked at her drawing and smiled as she drew Jay, Sunghoon, and Yebin beautifully. She added the beach, sky, and some foods to make it look like a picnic.

" Hey."

Aera stopped from drawing and turned her body to the back. Her reaction immediately changed when it was Jake.

Jake sat on his chair and gave a pack of sandwiches and strawberry milk, her favorite to Aera awkwardly. He honestly felt awkward doing this to her. She was his first love and of course, he never did this kind of treatment to other girls before. He felt embarrassed of himself, knowing his personality changed when he was with her.
He tried to manage his cold and bad boy vibes on himself but day by day, he became weak when it came to love.
