I'm looking forward to today. But since school is starting, I've gotta cut back on my spending. Almost every single day I'm spending money on either food or clothes. I barely wore all the clothes I bought before I left last month. I just wear the tank tops and shorts continuously. Now it's not a bad idea to stay at the dorms. At least they have a washer and dryer in the building and don't go to coin washers every week. They also get free food since they each get a meal plan. Then again, I did come here on a scholarship that lets me stay here for free with free breakfast included. I just have to pay for the restaurant food and any extra college expenses so it all checks out.
Before I went to the bathroom, I went over to my suitcase and started rummaging through it to find an outfit that I haven't worn yet. And I know the perfect fit: My T-shirt dress or what it actually is, a jersey dress. I paired it with my golden sandals and bangles and boom I have myself a fit. Then before I entered the elevator, I decided to get somethings from the vending machine instead of getting breakfast. Even though I blew over half of my paycheck money due to the massages, which were top-tier by the way, I only have $45 left. But it won't hurt if I spend $5 on a cereal bar, some cookies, and a drink. The bar was $1, the cookies were $ 1.50, and I got a coke for $ 1.75. Which left me with some pocket change since I made $0.75 back. After this, hopefully I won't spend anymore money until I get my next paycheck.
I started eating my food as soon as I put my change away and began walking to the elevator. Surprisingly my things didn't shake too much and I was able to finish my cereal bar and start eating my cookies. Then I made my way to the big welcome banner for orientation near the meeting area. I walked in there with my cookie bag crunched in one hand, my coke in the other, and around 300 eyeballs staring at me. I took a breath and scanned the area to find either Sabrina or Alissa. But since Alissa works here I spotted her near the middle of the room.
Eventually, more people came within 15 minutes and the room started to become more crowded. But the people coming in looked different in terms of clothing. It was basically uniform like. They wore the colors blue and silver. Also they looked significantly older than us as well. Then I turned around to look at the room another good time. Now I started to notice a blue and silver color scheme here. These must be the school colors I'm assuming. As I started to finish up my thoughts, I heard a loud voice echo through the microphone.
"Good morning Knights and welcome to Queens college, class of 2023." "It's great to see you all. So I'm sure you've all gotten adjusted to the city by now. And if you haven't, you better start tonight because it's going to get real these next few weeks. I'm serious you guys, this isn't high school anymore where you're schedule is planned. Or where you have your parents wake you up and you go catch the bus. You planning your schedule and getting to school on time is on you now. You're adults now, and adults plan their own day, mkay. ", the young woman said.
I don't know why this woman is yapping like a high school teacher or counselor. She saying this like I haven't heard this nonsense before. I planned my schedule before I got here. Also thanks to the honking cars I hear almost every morning, I know how to get up early now. The only thing I need to do here is get my schedule and maybe join some clubs and maybe even a sorority. As long as the fees aren't too expensive I'm good.
The woman then played a small presentation about the history of the school and the important information like how the average class size is about 20 kids in each class. They also briefly described the many perks of the campus and finally it touched on the clubs, fraternities, and sororities. It makes me wonder why aren't there many shows that take place in college? In my opinion, they're too many high school shows and movies and too many of them are ridiculously unrealistic. I really thought it was gonna be like East High in High School Musical or Hollywood Arts in Victorious. But all I got were adults making my early teenage years a living hell, and kids that cared about fighting, and spreading mess more than their grades.
