I can't believe that this is happening to me. I get to go to college in Queens, New York. I'm Jade Michaels and I've dreamed of living in the city ever since I was 5 years old. Now it's coming true. Now it's bye Charleston hello Queens! The chances of an 18 year old like me coming to New York on a scholarship are low but it happened to me. I have to start packing in 3 hours and head to the airport.

It's a good thing that my best friend is coming with me but the thing is am I ready for the city? I don't know I'm gonna miss South Carolina. I'm going up North. Before I leave i should probably go to some of my favorite places. After all its only 12:00. Let me call Sabrina. RINGGG! RINGGG! "Hey Jade what's up?" "Hey Sabrina. I was thinking that we should visit our favorite places in South Carolina before we head up north. " That sounds like a great idea. I'll meet you at the store in an hour." Well I guess I'll start getting ready.

You can't spend your last day before you leave without taking photos. Just think eighteen years ago I was welcomed to Charleston and now I'm leaving it. So I'm probably going to wear some of my favorite clothes that I bought here, my black tee  with SC on it, my dark red shorts and my converse shoes. You can never go wrong with converse. Well I guess I'm all set... time to meet my best friend.

When I entered my car i saw that it was only 12:34. "For the first time I'm early before a meet up!" Might as well just text her about where we should meet up at. I pulled out my phone and texted her. Hey I had a few minutes to spare. Where do you want to meet at? In less than a minute she replied. Probably at Golden Corral I'm hungry lol. You are always hungry. But yeah I'm hungry too. See you later. I put my phone in my bag and started my cars engine. "Time to go eat." Golden corral is like 15 to 20 minutes away anyways. How much traffic could there be?

It's a Sunday afternoon anyways. We're just going out to eat. Now I was about 10 minutes away and more cars started to get on the road which meant moving a centimeter every few seconds.  While I'm dealing with this slow movement let's turn on the radio. I started jamming to Single ladies by Beyonce. "Cause if you like it then you should've put a ring on it don't be mad once you see that he want if you like it then you should've put a ring on it woah oh oh!" Keep that Beyonce coming. Then formation came on " My daddy Alabama mama Louisiana you mix that negro with that creole make a Texas Bama! I like baby hair with baby hair and afros, I like negro nose with jackson 5 nostrils earned all this money but they never take the country out me. I got hot sauce in my bag Swag!"

For the rest of the ride i felt energetic and turnt up. I bet they play this music everyday in New York. I'm gonna be dancing in class everyday. If it's like that for real then I'm ready for that city life. Then I saw a yellow building with a red sign on it. We're here! Let the final memories in Charleston begin!
