Dreams in debt

Another two weeks went by and guess what? I got my first paycheck of $120. Since then me and Sabrina have been eating at the Bistro more often, mmm those cheeseburgers were delicious and I've been calling Rue Ms. Thomas now that she's my boss. She's pretty cool though by giving me the option to work anywhere on the first floor. So I decided to work at GUESS so I can "exercise those communication skills". Orientation is only a day away and on the 22nd it's back to class. 

I can't believe it's been a month since we left South Carolina. Even after all that time I still haven't saw the perks of the hotel. Because of work I haven't had as much time to hang out with Sabrina and Alissa as I wanted to. I think it's time that the three of us hang out together. We could probably just hang at the pool later.  But anyways it's time to go down to go and eat breakfast. Before I left I texted both of them if they had wanted to go with me to the pool before I had headed out.

Instead of waiting for someone as I usually do I'm just gonna get my breakfast by myself today. I headed down to the breakfast area to see what food they had. But as I came there I saw a different setup. They designed the place like it was already orientation day. There were flyers, things that represented the school and even school merchandise. Better to get an earlier start than to rush the setup. I filled my plate up with bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, and a biscuit then grabbed apple juice to finish the meal up. Once the plate was filled I stared at some trays near the back of the café. So since I wanted to eat upstairs I transferred my food into the tray and went back up to my room.

Once I got back into my room I went to get my laptop so that I could watch Netflix. There's nothing better than eating while you watch the perfect show or movie. I finished everything within 30 minutes and I felt a little bloated afterwards. My stomach started to shoot out like a firework. Maybe I do need to hit the gym before I hit the pool. While I was going to throw my food away I heard my notification sound go off. My guess is either one of them saw my message. As I went to check my phone a second notification sound went off. Sabrina responded with a "sounds good, wanna go round 6?", while Alissa responded with "great see you soon.". I'll probably text them the time when I'm done with the gym.

It's around 9 so I have time to blow some money or just chill until noon. Why worry about school things when summer is still here? I could buy a nice swimsuit with this paycheck. So after that thought, I opened another tab and started searching for some decent priced swimsuits. Now that I'm on my own I don't have to hear about anybody judging my body because black parents love doing that. Soon i can start my body acceptance journey and it all starts this school year. But anyways I'm done with my emotional ramble, time to fit one last fit.

About an hour later I had found the cutest swimsuit that google could show me. It was a black bikini with green polka dots all over. There was an option to get it as early as this afternoon but I had to pay $10 extra. Eh I'll do what it takes to look good.What can I say, I love to compliment my melanin. I have a free day today and tomorrow and on Wednesday I'm going to work. Since I don't really have anything to do, I could just knock out my workout already. Plus my foods digested anyways , this tummy can handle it. I leaned over my bed so that i could put my laptop away and I  looked for some outfit that I already worn. Just a regular pink tank top and black mesh shorts and once I had changed so had way of going to the main floor. This girl needs all the exercise I can get so took the stairs instead.

Before I headed to the gym, I took a moment to glimpse and the amazing summer weather. The suns yellow light beaming bright and the slight breeze blowing near the door. I'm glad I came to New York this summer. Besides getting most of my money stolen and having to get a job prematurely everything is going good. I'm getting closer to my best friend, I got that amazing tour, I made my first friend here, and most importantly I'm eating good food. Damn those cheeseburgers really wake up my taste buds. I slowly made my way over to the gym and now it is time to burn those calories.
