                               Gingerbread

Ingredients                                         Quantity
Plain flour                                              200g
Grinded ginger                                      1tsp
Mixed spice                                            1tsp
Bicarbonate of soda                             1tsp
Chopped candied peel                         by choice
Fat                                                             100g
Sugar                                                        50g
Egg                                                            1
Treacle sugar                                         150g
Milk                                                          125ml

                                     Method
1:Prepare treacle by melting 150g of sugar on fire.
2:Put it off from the fire when it is melted.
3:Add 150ml of water,50g of sugar and the fat to it then stir vigorously.Put it back on fire.
4:When all the sugar dissolves,take it off from the fire then leave to cool.(careful not to burn it)
5:Sieve flour into a mixing bowl.
6:Add all dried ingredients.
7:Create a hole in the middle of the mixture and drop the ginger into it.
8:Break the egg and whisk.
9:Dilute 100ml of milk with 25ml of water.
10:Pour the diluted milk into the hole created.
11:Pour the treacle and egg into it.
12:Whisk all mixture together until it is free from lumps.
13:Pour the mixture into a well greased loaf tin and bake in the oven.
(NB:Always preheat the oven before baking).
14:Bake for about 60minutes.
15:Cool and serve.
