The day started like any other. Beautiful blue skies, a cool breeze coming over the strawberry fields bringing the smell of fruit with them and an underwater discovery that was about to shake the camp... literally.
Percy, on his part, was just swimming innocently. That is until he found an old cannon. Don't tell my why it was there, I couldn't tell you, but Percy immediately knew what he needed.
He needed to find Leo and test the ancient weapon.
With the help of Festus and a particularly well working cable, the two managed to get it to Bunker 9 (somewhere Annabeth wouldn't find it easily).
It was to dangerous to set off in the woods or in the camp, so Leo rigged it to fire underwater with the help of Greek fire and a particularly destructive mind.
They waited till the day after summer ended, less people to know what they were doing. Somehow the Stoll brother found out, but they were suspiciously more for it than Leo and Percy.
Well anyway, Percy led the three under the lake, a hollow air pocket letting Leo drag the metal monstrosity behind him.
None of the four boys thought the cannon would have enough power to fire to the surface... let alone through the surface, into the camp, and bust a whole in the climbing wall.
No one was there, or they probably would have been yelled longer than four hours and forced the rebuild while dodging lava flows and insults from their respective friends. (Annabeth, Calypso and Katie had a field day).
No one knows what happened to the cannon, but it wasn't where the boys left it. There is still the rumor floating around camp that it was front a pirate skip and will return when more diabolical minds come across it.
Chiron knows it properly lock up in the Big House where it will remain until he deceived to free it.
