Chapter 5: Partner Project

Levi's POV:

After my questionable encounter with Alvin, I hurried to my next class. I walked in and noticed everyone was already at their seats. I scanned the room, hoping that Alvin wasn't in my class. Of course with my luck, he was. Right when I found him, we locked eyes.

We stared at eachother for what felt like forever.

Is he going to look away or..?

"Levi."

I quickly turned my head to see my teacher standing behind me.

"Have you forgotten that class starts in a moment? Please take your seat."

I nodded and walked to my usual seat, only to see that Simon was already sitting there...

I cleared my throat.

"Excuse me, that's my seat."

Simon turned around to face me.

"Ugh" He rolled his eyes. "You again??"

"Um.."

I was still embarrassed about lunch and avoided eye contact with him.

"Just find a new seat, loser"

He scoffed and went back to his conversation with Theodore.

I searched the room for another seat, but there wasn't any free.

Except one...

"Hey Levi you can sit with me~"

Alvin playfully winked at me.

Ugh of course the only empty seat was behind him.

I reluctantly sat down and prepared for class.

When every student was finally seated, the teacher walked to the front of the class and closed the door.

"Today we are going to be doing a science project.-"

Groans of annoyance could be heard from the classroom, but the teacher ignored it and continued.

"-This assignment will require you to pair into partners as well.."

The students around me started looking around the room, at people they would want to potentially pair up with.

But their excitement disappeared when the teacher announced that they (whatever you prefer) would be choosing the partners.

One by one the partners were picked. Cheers could be heard from the students who were partnered with friends, and groans could be heard from the students who were less fortunate.

By the end, everyone had their partners, except me and Alvin.

"The last pair will be-"

With only two people left, it was inevitable that Alvin and I would be paired.

"Alvin and Levi"

I rolled my eyes and looked at Alvin.

To my surprise, he had a satisfied smirk, plastered on his face. He looked at me and raised his eyebrows enthusiastically.

Ugh I could not stand him !!

Without a doubt, this project was going to be exhaustingly difficult.
