Both Krishna and Subhadra entered the grand gates of Dwarka, their presence lighting up the atmosphere of the magnificent city. As they passed through, the citizens of Dwarka stood on either side of the pathway, eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of their beloved princess. The crowd erupted into cheers and celebrations as flower petals were showered upon them, filling the air with the fragrance of devotion and joy.
The people of Dwarka had waited many years for their innocent, playful, and loving princess to return from Kanyakul. Her absence had left the city feeling incomplete, like a body without its soul. But now, as Rajkumari Subhadra returned, no longer a little girl but a stunning and graceful maiden, it was as though the heart and spirit of Dwarka had returned.
"Rajkumari Subhadra ki Jai! Rajkumari Subhadra ki Jai! Rajkumari Subhadra ki Jai!" the people chanted, their voices echoing in unison. Subhadra smiled and waved at them, her heart brimming with love for her people.
Krishna and Subhadra finally arrived at the palace gates, where the royal family awaited their arrival. Subhadra stepped forward, her face radiant with excitement and reverence.
"Pranam, Matashree. Pranam, Badi Maa. Pranam, Pitashree. Pranam, Dau," she greeted, bowing to each of them respectfully.
"Kalyan vastu (May you prosper), my child," said Rohini, her face glowing with maternal pride. Devaki and Vasudeva joined in, offering their blessings with warm smiles.
"Sukhi raho, Behen (Stay happy, sister)," said Balram with a protective affection only an elder brother could convey.
Subhadra beamed at her family, feeling the warmth of their love and blessings. Suddenly, her gaze fell upon a young woman standing near Balram. The woman was strikingly beautiful, her posture graceful and her expression soft and serene.
"Who is this lovely woman, Dau?" Subhadra asked curiously, looking from the woman to Balram. To her surprise, Balram didn't reply. Instead, he blushed deeply, avoiding her gaze.
"Hmm, something is definitely fishy," Subhadra said, her tone playful and mischievous. Turning to Krishna, she demanded, "Bhratashree, you tell me."
Krishna chuckled and said with a smile, "Bhadrey, meet Rajkumari Revathi. She is Dau's chosen one-our future Bhabhi!"
"Oho! So that's why Dau is blushing!" exclaimed Subhadra, giggling. "Dau, you sly one, you didn't even tell me!"
"Enough, Bhadra, stop teasing me," Balram said, his tone tinged with embarrassment.
"Dau, if you permit, may I speak with your future wife-I mean, our future Bhabhi?" Subhadra asked mischievously, her eyes twinkling with humor.
Balram nodded, trying to suppress a smile. "Go ahead, Bhadrey. Show her around the palace while you're at it," he said, waving them off.
"Okay, Boss-I mean, Dau," Subhadra said, winking at him as she led Revathi away. Krishna watched the two women leave, shaking his head at his sister's playful nature.
---
Subhadra guided Revathi through the grand corridors of the palace, her excitement evident in every step. She stopped in front of a room and said with a mischievous smile, "And this, Bhabhi Revathi, is your future husband's-I mean, my Dau's-room."
Revathi blushed at Subhadra's teasing but said nothing, her smile betraying her shy delight.
"And this," Subhadra continued, opening another door with a flourish, "is my room. Feel free to visit anytime, Bhabhishree!"
Revathi giggled and nodded. "Thank you, Nanad-Rani," she said, addressing Subhadra with affection.
"Bhabhi, can I ask you something?" Subhadra inquired, her tone softening.
"Of course, ask anything, my dear," Revathi replied with a warm smile.
"Do you like Dau?" Subhadra asked, tilting her head as she observed Revathi's reaction. Revathi nodded shyly, her cheeks turning a deep shade of pink.
Subhadra beamed. "Dau has made a perfect choice. You are strong, beautiful, and sweet, Bhabhi. I couldn't be happier!" she said, pulling Revathi into a heartfelt hug.
---
The next day, the palace was abuzz with preparations for the Haldi ceremony. The elders began the ritual, applying turmeric paste to both Balram and Revathi. When it was Subhadra's turn, she mischievously scooped up all the leftover paste, causing everyone to look at her in confusion.
"What are you doing, Subhadrey? Why have you taken so much paste?" Balram asked, raising an eyebrow.
Subhadra grinned and replied, "Dau, I've heard that couples apply haldi to look more radiant. And since you and our future Bhabhi will look even more beautiful, your romance will blossom even further! Isn't that right, Dau?" she teased, laughing as she applied the turmeric generously to his face.
Balram turned red, unable to hide his embarrassment, while Revathi giggled softly. Krishna, watching from the side, struggled to contain his laughter.
The ceremony concluded amid much laughter and joy, setting the stage for the grand wedding the next day.
---
As the first rays of dawn broke, the palace woke up early in preparation for the grand event. Balram and Revathi, accompanied by the family, visited a nearby temple to seek blessings before the ceremony.
Revathi looked stunning in a vibrant red saree adorned with intricate gold embroidery. Her radiant beauty left everyone in awe, while Balram, dressed in traditional royal attire, looked every bit the strong and noble prince he was.
The couple sat before the sacred fire, the priest chanting Vedic hymns as they performed the rituals. Subhadra watched with teary eyes, feeling both joy and pride as her beloved Dau began a new chapter in his life.
When it was time to exchange garlands, Balram and Revathi stood, their eyes meeting in a moment of quiet understanding and love. They gently placed the garlands around each other's necks, their smiles reflecting their happiness.
The priest instructed them to take the seven sacred vows around the fire, pledging to stand by each other through every joy and hardship. Each step they took solidified their bond, witnessed by the divine and their loved ones.
As the ceremony concluded, the royal family and guests showered the couple with blessings, cheering and celebrating the union of two souls destined to be together.
---
The palace buzzed with festivities as the newlyweds were welcomed into the family. Subhadra, still her mischievous self, didn't miss a chance to tease Dau and her new Bhabhi.
"So, Bhabhishree, how does it feel to marry the strongest man in Aryavarta?" she asked, winking at Revathi.
Revathi blushed but smiled warmly, her happiness evident in her eyes. Balram, though embarrassed by his sister's constant teasing, couldn't hide his joy either.
Krishna watched the scene unfold, his heart swelling with pride and love for his family. The union of Balram and Revathi brought not only joy to Dwarka but also strengthened the bond of love and togetherness among its people.
Subhadra, observing her family's happiness, thought to herself, This is what makes Dwarka so special-the love and unity that bind us together. Whether it's Dau's wedding or the simple joy of teasing each other, every moment here is filled with warmth and love.
And with that, Dwarka's festivities continued, the city rejoicing in the beginning of a beautiful new chapter in their royal family's story.
So this was the chapter.
