The morning went by extremely slow. As the day gradually grew to be night I felt more and more trapped. David would not let me out of his sight. I understand why he would be so scared, I nearly died, but this constant weight of having on my back 24/7 felt so draining.

On top of that, I could tell that Tara was feeling so much guilt from the accident even though she has nothing to do with what has happened to me. She was such a sympathetic person that she had always found a way to place the blame onto herself.

I felt like Andrea was the most understanding. Yeah, Andrea was still checking up on me here and there, but she treated me like nothing had happened, and that was honestly the best feeling. I could tell she couldn't stop thinking about the night, but unlike everyone else, she was able to push away the past and pretend it never happened. That was her way of coping with things.

Colby was trying his hardest to get me up and continue everything as if it was a normal day but I loathed it. I couldn't bring myself to do anything when everyone treated me differently. He was trying way too hard, and I know he's just trying to help but it just doesn't feel right.

Due to everyone surrounding me like a caged animal, I was extremely annoyed and eventually, I just tried to block everyone out. I rarely came out of the room and avoided talking to anyone at all costs.

At this moment I laid in complete silence on Colby's bed for the first time in a while. Breathing in the silence I left my once bounding head dull down. The blinds were closed shut making me unknown to what it looked like outside, but I knew it was dark.

It had been just over half an hour and there has not be any trace of anyone. The house felt somewhat eery due to no sound coming from the walls and under the bedroom door.

A sudden gush of wind blew out from the window beside me instantly freezing my skin at its touch. I shiver pulling myself underneath the covers and hugging myself into a tight ball.

"What are you doing?" Colby's soft voice comes from the doorway. I sighed, my bounding head once returning.

I slowly pull down the covers off from my face and stare right at the bedroom door. Colby must have just woken up from a nap since his hair was all ruffled up and his eyes were barely even opened.

"I'm cold" I quickly respond to his question. He stares at me for a second, trying to take in what I said before my words finally make sense to him. ''shit sorry'' he immediately replies before speed walking over towards the window and closing it.

I don't reply but instead, look at him as if lost for words. He spins around to face me once again, giving me a small, tired smile. He looks off into the darkness of the bedroom before he seems to have a massive thought pop into his head.

"Do you like car rides Ava?" He randomly questions me. "Yeah, why?" I reply my eyebrows kitting together.

"Good, we are going on a car ride then," he says with a faint smile as he pulls a pair of car keys out from his pocket.

The mixture of dark blue and grey painted above our heads as we drove past speeding cars and tall city buildings that were closed due to the time. The streets looked extremely clean as if someone comes out every night to wash it down.

I reach for the radio in front of me and turn it up letting the music blast throughout the car. "Where are we?" I ask rolling down the window and letting the cold breeze hit my face.

"I'm taking you to a place I went to ages ago with Sam,'' He responds to me. ''What's the place?" I question him for the millionth time tonight.

''There is an amazing lookout just 20 minutes away from here" he answers. I reply back to him with a soft smile, feeling a rush of excitement creep up my body.

Taking my gaze away from him I stuck my head out of my window and let the strong wind dominate the direction of my hair. The coldness from the wind felt someone comforting in a way.

Night air was always so crisp.

"Explain to me how you found this place again" I gasp at the beautiful view out in front of me. The lookout was placed perfectly out-looking the whole city. Each building glowed various colors and the cars driving past each structure looked somewhat like tiny ants from this height.

The sky was covered in sparkling, bright stars, all differ in size from each other. Placed directly in the middle of everything was a gorgeous full moon.

The temperature from this height wasn't cold up here nor was it stuffy. It was just perfect.

"Sam and I was once exploring an abandoned building for our YouTube channel that's just around here and on the way home Sam had noticed this lookout and now I just come here when I want to release all my stress" he answers me not taking his gaze off of the view.

I turned to look over at Colby and instantly I felt my breath being stolen away. With the light of the city, he didn't look real. Colby looked like something straight out of a famous painting or even a famous sculpture.

Suddenly he pulls his attention away from the view and looks over at me, catching me looking at him. He doesn't say anything but instead smiles at me.

Embarrassed, I quickly smile back at him before looking back out at the view. "The view is beautiful," I say filling in the silence.

"Yeah it's stunning" he whispers even though I knew he wasn't looking out at the view. He was still looking at me.
