I didn't expect that

I stood there for a good thirty seconds trying to process everything before grabbing my stuff and heading back inside. I walked back inside dumbfounded still not able to fully grasp what she said to me. I grabbed my phone to text my closest friend.

Lilith: So...we have new neighborss!

Dummie: Oooo! A girl? Is she hot?

Lilith: Chill, but yes. And she told me to sneak out my window tonight?!

Dummie: Do it.

Am I surprised by her response to this? No not at all. We have been friends for a while now and this is to be expected. I walk to my room and move things away from my bedroom window. I hear the sound of metal scraping against concrete and peak out to see her putting a latter under my window. She waves and walks away, once again leaving me to think. I sit down on the corner of my bed and take my boots off. I then throw myself further onto my bed to watch tik toks for a while. " I wonder if she has tik tok.." I thought to myself as I scrolled onto a video of a cat in a hoodie. Before I know it, its midnight and I'm getting ready all over again. Pulling my hair up into two buns and fixing my now smudged eyeliner. God all these little triangles don't seem to last long...anyways. I open my window and peak out. No sign of her yet. I decided to go on tik tok live before I climb out of my bedroom window. I explained to my 100 viewers what is going on. While reading a comment I hear her play music outside. I ask them if I should head out and they tell me yes. I end the stream and head over to my window. " Is it time?" I said startling her. "Yeah! Come on out!" she said excitedly.

I climb down and fix my now weirdly placed top, and walk over to her. The lighting on her face makes her seem like a goddess walking the earth. The way the fire lit up her hazel eyes, and defined her cheeks just a little more than before made my heart skip a beat. She must have noticed me staring because she made a weird face and snapped me out of the trance. "Was I just taking in all of your facial features so I could sketch you later? Maybe" I said in a sing songy voice. She giggled and said "Don't worry I've been thinking about how your eyes look like a lake at sunset." Just then I felt the same heat rise to my cheeks as earlier today.

We sat around a camp fire for a bit, then she asked me a question "Are you Irish?" Huh? Where in the world did this question come from? "Yeah actually, are you?" I said slightly confused. "My name is Oselyn Ryan, you tell me" She laughed. " Ah, that makes sense!" I said laughing as well. "I never did tell you my name did I?" I asked genuinely concerned that I forgot that. "No, what is it?" she replied. "Lilith Jackson" I said changing my last name to a last name I liked. "Nice, who knows maybe someday it will be Ryan" she said clearly flirting. My face turned fifty shades of red. I buried my face in my hands trying to hide the obvious. I loved her flirting. I loved everything about her, and I haven't known her for long. She's sweet, and mysterious, and it's keeping me on the edge of my seat. I sat there not knowing how to respond, and hoping that she couldn't see how incredibly flustered I am. "Sorry, was that too much?" she asked sweetly. "No! I just..don't know how to respond." I said honestly. "Got a swimsuit?" She asked out of the blue. I do, but its this ugly blue one piece that doesn't fit anymore. So I lied and said no. "Well let me go grab one for you. I want to go on the hot tub with you." She said while starting to get up. "Oh, Okay!"

She comes back out with this cute two piece red bikini. She hands me the swimsuit and tells me "You can change into it here, I'll turn around." I even more red in the face whimper out a okay and change quickly. "You can look" I said as I put my clothes onto a bench near by. She turned around and was silent before taking her top of to revile her swimsuit under neath. I giggle and walk over to the hot tub. She quickly follows and uncovers it. She gets in and I follow short after. This was my second time ever being in a hot tub. It had l.e.d.s so the water changed colors. She turned the lights to a soothing red color, and I couldn't help but stare at her face. The way the water glowed and lit up her face was beautiful. The small ripples in the water made her face appear to move slightly. I watched entranced in the way the light perfectly hit her face. Her small round nose, and slight freckles looking back at me. Her top lip higher then the bottom, but full and soft looking. Her perfectly carved eyebrows, were the cherry on top. As I watched her eyes scan over my face I couldn't help but smile. She was doing the same thing I was. Drawing the facial features in my mind. She was perfect. "Like looking at my eyes, Osie?" I said using a nickname I came up with on the spot. I watched her face flush slightly at the nickname I gave her. "Yeah, they are stunning." I rolled my eyes.

I had never liked myself. I always have had a bad self image, so just the thought of someone else liking my face seemed fake to me. Who in the right mind would look at me and thing I'm genuinely pretty? It feels like a ten calling a 3 gorgeous. It felt so wrong, so gross. I tried to ignore it but I think she could tell it was bothering me. She tilted her head slightly to the side and gave me a concerned look. "What?" I asked hoping she couldn't tell. "Are you doubting yourself right now?" She asked confirming my suspicions. "Yeah.." I sighed.  She moved closer to me and in a lower, almost whiny voice she said "Well stop. I think you're beautiful, and if you need proof I will give you proof." I nodded my head yes. She cupped my head in her hands and kissed me. Her soft lips onto mine. It was the best feeling in the world. I pushed back into the kiss to show that I was enjoying it. She broke the kiss only to kiss me again. This time a little less soft and, I still liked it. I kissed her back, and put my hand on the back of her head. I never wanted it to stop. I wish I could pause time and stay in this moment forever, but unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. We pulled away for air and she spoke up "Go out with me. On a real date." I had wanted just that since the moment I first saw her. "You have no idea how badly I wanted to hear you say that." I responded with a cheeky grin.

It was around 3 am, once I climbed back into the window. We exchanged numbers, and I gave her my tik tok. She told me she was going to follow me, and post a video about this and tag me. I changed into pajamas and crawled into bed. I checked my phone to see someone had followed me. I opened their profile, It was her alright. She had 3.1 million followers, and was even verified. I found it crazy but I didn't care. I loved her before I knew she was practically famous. I know people won't always believe that but I knew what was true and that's all that matters. She posted a video that quickly went viral talking about how we met. Seeing her face light up talking about me made me smile so hard. I kicked my feet with happiness and rolled over. I hugged the phone to my chest, then plugged it in.

That was definitely not what I was expecting out of tonight. Although I'm not sure, what I was expecting. That just wasn't it. As the moments of the night replayed over and over again in my head I fell asleep. That had been the best day of my life in years.

A/N: 1493  words! This is the longest chapter I've ever written, so I'm happy. I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading, and please feel free to tell me what you think so far!
