Souryuu, the dark blue rabbit. A wonderful aircraft carrier, the elder sister of Hiryuu and a rabbit. Intelligent and clever, she often feared the worst, knowing every way a plan could go wrong, and how her elders were so often... silly, for lack of a better word. But on that fateful day, a day that would go down in history, the elders would prove to be stubborn, and she would be the first to sink...

4 June 1942

"Takeoff!"

The first Japanese takeoff against the Midway islands occurred precisely at 4.30, and the Kido Butai was already preparing for attack. Souryuu was particularly concerned about this whole risky plan - it was about as risky as their attack on Pearl Harbor.

Being the quiet blue rabbit she was, she remained silent, not wanting to go against her superiors back at headquarters. She accepted the fate handed to her, no matter if she liked it or not. Hiryuu, beside her, squeezed her hand tightly, sensing her irritation. Souryuu relaxed and squeezed back.

There were ten planes nearby, evidently, they were enemy planes, looking for the Japanese ships.

Later on, some Avengers and B-26s took off from Midway, attacking the Kido Butai. Tone's recon planes finally found signs of enemies - the main American Naval Force was here.

More enemy planes arrived, from some - in Kaga's opinion, as she loudly stated - unimportant warship that didn't need attacking. Still, she and the rest did their best to destroy the ships. Souryuu gritted her bunny teeth and pushed up her glasses.

I'm ready to fight.

"Enterprise, engage!" a shout could be heard. "Grey Ghost, always so dramatic." Kaga rolled her eyes, getting ready to fight. Souryuu sighed internally at Kaga's unprepared state - often this was so for her seniors.

"The honourable Yorktown class is here! Tremble at our sight, dudes!" Hornet yelled, launching her planes. "Curses!" Souryuu cried as the mighty class of Eagle Union ships launched their planes, which dropped their payload on the Japanese ships. The Kido Butai started launching more planes to attack the Eagle Union ships. Souryuu cursed under her breath every time her planes missed, or an enemy scored a hit.

The plan failed for the first time, and Souryuu was hit hard. She and her ship slowly drifted down. "No! Souryuu!" Hiryuu cried, desperately trying to reach for her sister, whose hand had slipped from her grasp. "Hiryuu... You must continue fighting... Without me... I'm sorry..." Souryuu whispered as she dipped beneath the waters.

Never to be seen again.

The Blue Rabbit, sunk first in a plan she did not agree to.

Thanks for sticking till the end, and sorry for late post! Again, this whole series of one-shots was suggested by EditTheJavelin. Thanks!!!! Remember to give me more requests :)

The FMOF is the Five Minutes of Fate, a historical section in the Battle of Midway. This will be a five-part story, even though Yorktown's sinking doesn't really count... lol... note that these stories do look, for the most part, the same. This is because Akagi and Kaga are, in a way, like-minded in my one-shots, not like how Azur Lane's Midway memory plays out.

Akagi and Kaga are NOT sisters. Sworn sisters in my stories!! :D

Please vote and comment if you liked this one-shot! <3
