Over the next few days, Roman and his guards search for any man with hetrochomia. They found a few people with hetrochomia but Virgil said the eye color was wrong on all of them.
About a week after the incident, Virgil and Roman were walking around town when Virgil suddenly stopped. "V, kitten?" Roman asks, confused.
"That's him Ro." Virgil says quietly, pointing at a man who was looking at them.
"That's who kitten?" Roman asks.
"The man who hurt me Ro. That's his eyes." Virgil says slipping behind Roman.
"Oh. Stay here kitten." Roman says.
Roman walks over to the man. "Excuse me sir. But would you accompany me to the castle.
"Of course my prince." The man says.
Roman starts back to the castle with the man, signaling Virgil to come too.
Soon the group makes it back to the castle. Roman tells the man to stay out as he bring Virgil to a guard. "One of you take him to our room. The other with me to figure out why he hurt Virgil."
"Yes sir! C'mon Mr. Virgil." One guard says.
Virgil silently follows the guard up to Roman's room. "Thank you." Virgil says quietly.
"You're welcome Mr. Virgil." The guard responds before walking away.
Virgil goes Into Roman's room. He lays on Roman's bed. Soon falling asleep.
Meanwhile~
"Why did you hurt Virgil?" Roman asks the man.
"I was ordered." The man answers.
"By who?" Roman asks.
"Some guy in the far part of town. He said if I couldn't get the cat back to him to just beat the cat." The man answers.
"Does this man have a name?" Roman asks, pacing the floor in front of him.
"Yeah. It was uh- Sh*t- Camren something." The man answers again.
"Camren Brown by chance?" Roman asks.
"Yeah that was the name." The man responds.
"Ok thank you." Roman stops pacing, "Why did you do it?"
"For money. He gave me 500 bucks. Which helps me and my family are poor and anything helps." The man responds.
"I see. Thank you for the honesty." Roman says. "Would you take us to Camren's house."
"Yeah sure. But could I apologize to the cat?" The man asks.
"I suppose. Guards go fetch Virgil." Roman calls.
"Yes sir!" One guards calls, walking away.
"Now what is your name?" Roman asks.
"Mark Nicks." The man or Mark responds.
"You wanted me master." Comes the quite voice of Virgil.
"Yes Virgil. Mark wants to speak with you." Roman responds to Virgil, wrapping an arm around his waist.
"Oh." Virgil says quietly.
"Listen Virgil. I am very sorry. I've regretted what I did but I needed the money." Mark says.
"Oh. It's ok I guess." Virgil says, "Am I allowed to leave now Master?"
"Yes you may. I'll be up in a bit." Roman answers.
Virgil walks away. Roman redirects his attention to Mark.
"Come back here tomorrow. You'll take us to Camren then." Roman states.
"Yes sir." Mark responds.
